You’ve got 30 days to make $2,000 in profit online with internet marketing…what would you do?

Contest: Submit your plan to make $2000 in 30 days from scratch online with internet marketing

Alright guys and girls, the contest is now over and the response has been nothing short of amazing. In fact, it was very difficult for me to come up with the winners because so many people had really great ideas. I apologize if you didn’t get picked as the winner, and it doesn’t mean I think your idea sucks or anything like that, I just had to make  a tough call between all these awesome plans (so tough that I had to add an additional $50 gift card for a 3rd place prize)!

Let me tell you what I was looking for in the winning answers.

  • Anything involving SEO is out – SEO is great, but the problem is it takes time. So $2000 profit in 30 days is unlikely to happen. Not impossible, but rare enough that it won’t happen for the average person.
  • Anything involving instant traffic is in – article marketing (close to instant), forum marketing, direct response all good answers.
  • Nothing related to JVs – JVing is great, but if you don’t have a list no one will JV with you. Since the criteria for the contest was that you didn’t have a list, using it to leverage a JV relationship is out. Sure, you might get lucky and find someone who will promote you anyway, but by the time you find one your month time frame will most likely be over. Not impossible to do by any means, but the average person won’t be able to accomplish this.
  • Anything that required conversion testing – conversion testing takes time, so I decided to decline any ideas that relied heavily on having a high conversion rate were out. However, one could argue that with experience you would have an idea of how certain keywords and landing pages converted. So I looked at it as if an average user were able to do it, not a PPC expert.

I was surprised no one suggested this…

What really surprised me is that no one suggested good old fashioned freelancing. All you’d have to do is write 10-15 articles a day for someone and you’d make the $2000 profit cap. You could take on higher level projects as well like web design, programming, etc. assuming you have the experience.

Anyway, here’s what I thought were the best submissions:

First place – $100 Amazon Gift Card – Andrew Douglas

Andrew’s submission

======================================================

This is how I’ve been making $15,000 – $20,000 a month for the last 8 months.

It’s so simple even Dan could do it :p

Step 1 –
Think of the most embarrassing helth problems you can (herpes, genital warts, bad breath, rash on ____ ). Things people dont even want to go to the doctor for.
Do your keyword research and create a list of them.

Step 2 –
Find a related affiliate program for each ailment that has a good sales page and offers a solution to the problem. Sign up and get your affiliate link.
Match them up with your keywords.

Step 3 –
Check to make sure that people are talking about this problem in forums and blogs by doing a google search.

– “how do i get rid of herpes?”
– “how can i cure genital warts?”
etc….

Step 4 –
Spend the $500 on Outsourcers. Pay them to find forums and blogs where people are asking for cures to their problem.
Then have them make helpful posts with the appropriate affiliate link. (known as Forum Marketing)

Step 5 –
Once that niche or problem has been exausted, move on to the next.
Wash, Rinse and have your Outsourcers Repeat.

This is how YOU WILL make at least $2,000 per month with only a few hours of work.

I currently employ 8 Outsourcers to do this for me full time. The payoff is TENFOLD. I pay $2,000 a month and get back at least $15,000.
Each month my sales grow by about $1,500.
If I got off my lazy but and hired more outsourcers I would make even more.

Just chose your niches wisely.

=======================================================

Great submission Andrew. I picked yours as the winner because you provided detail, the traffic source is instant, and you provided info on scaling up the process through the use of outsourcing. I will email you with the info for claiming the prize.

Second Place  – $50 Amazon Gift Card – Nancy M

Nancy’s plan:

=======================================================

I would search the drop lists, auctions, and forums for a domain name bargain. i might not even need $500 startup money. I would buy the domain that I thought I could find an end user for. I’ve done this with domains I already own, and the profit margin is huge, if you can find the right end user. End user is someone using a similar domain for their website,or maybe even someone that is using a stupid domain for their website, and you’ve found one that more closely matches their product, idea, or service. You must be creative in finding that person that NEEDS that domain. It would probably take about a week to find the right domain (or maybe even 2 domains since there is such a generous startup, I usually start with an $8 domain;)) then the rest of the time is chasing a user and selling them on the domain. Google, twitter, facebook, every online source of search is fair game to find that end user. Think out of the box. 1/2 your work is done when you’re out there looking for the domain. You have a pretty good game plan in mind when you buy it. Time are tough, and some people are desperate and selling domains way too cheap. It’s the perfect time to pick up a bargain and put a little time into it and resell it!
It can and HAS been done, many times over!

=========================================================

Nice job Nancy! I like the direct approach, and know that it works because I recently paid a guy $300 for a domain who approached me with this tactic. It works.

Third Place – $50 Amazon Gift Card – Danny Gardner

Danny’s post:

==========================================================

I’m gonna opt for several pictures instead of a video, hope that’s alright.

Mr. Brock, you will probably regret asking for detail as this will be a crazy long comment. Also, fantastic idea for a blog post, sir. I really respect you for setting up this contest.

So, $2000 in 30 days, eh?

Option 1: market a high end poker cpa offer. I’ve seen them as high as about $225 per lead (you’d only need 9 leads!), but there are health related cpa offers for like $40 if anyone has an issue with gambling. Then you’ll need 50 leads. Though I hear the poker market is…rabid. But then again so is health so it’s up to you. Oh and keyword research has been weird for me with poker terms, so health is probably easier anyway. Just thought a $200 CPA offer was worth mentioning.

Option 2: Market a hot clickbank product. The strategy will be the mostly the same. The main difference is that our domain name would be based on the product name more so than search volume AND the product name. For example, deadbeatsuperaffiliatereview.com or deadbeatsuperaffiliateexposed.com. Also, option two may not require a lot of SEO since there may not be a lot of search traffic for the product name. Regardless, the general strategy is the same.

I’ll be using Option 1 as the example, but Option 2 is still very, very viable. Here we go…

First Expenses

I’d use about $20 of the start up capital for a domain name and hosting so I could build a wordpress blog around a low competition keyword. Here come the details…

Research

I’d get my product ideas from markethealth.com. Something with a coupon offer of about $40 dollars. As nasty as it is, I’m going to use toe nail fungus as my example. Claripro is the particular product I’ll be selling.

Picture: http://screencast.com/t/1aDOrdNYvOP

Use the Google Keyword Tool found at http://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and search terms like toe fungus. Under advanced options, filter keywords for Global Monthly Searches greater than or equal to 2,500. After searching, be sure to switch from broad to phrase match on the left bar. This will make sure my results are more relevant to what I want in a keyword: good search volume.

Picture: http://screencast.com/t/KpwvubU60c

I really want an exact match domain name to go with my keyword. That means that my keyword and my domain name should be the exact same thing. So now I’ll check for domain name availability.

Check the box next to “Keyword”. This will highlight the entire page of keywords that meet the given criteria. After doing this, click on “View As Text” then “Selected”. Copy this list, we’ll use it in a minute.

Picture: http://screencast.com/t/G5IdH8taYPU

Go to cheapcheapdomainnames.com and look for “Bulk Registration.” It’s under “Domain Names” on the left. Now it’s time to copy and paste that list. Check .com .net and .org as the domain extensions to search.

Picture: http://www.screencast.com/t/DxMaAzex

I’ll need a domain name that represents a problem someone is having, and at the time of this comment it looks like getridoftoenailfungus.net is available. Not the perfect domain name, but I think it’ll be good enough for example’s sake.

Time to check for competition. I don’t want to see hundreds of thousands of competing pages (not that that’s necessarily an issue, I just haven’t yet tested my methods with that kind of figure), PR over 3, or hundreds and hundreds of backlinks.

Picture: http://www.screencast.com/t/rSYpc0zeAwoZ

You’ll see that none of the competition there is too bad at all. So at this point I would purchase the domain name.

Domain Registration, Hosting, and Installing WordPress

I use cheapcheapdomainnames.com as my primary domain registrar, and hostgator.com as my main hosting company. Don’t forget to change your nameservers after purchase the domain name. Nameservers look something like nsXXXX.hostgator.com.

To install WordPress I’d simply use Fantastico De Luxe. The blue smiley face towards the bottom of the cpanel. And I’d use the keyword as the site name and description (and possibly the Admin Nickname, I’m still testing that one).

Picture: http://www.screencast.com/t/yRkr423Na

Search Engine Optmization

Now it’s time to “Search Engine Optimize” the blog. First, delete the default “Hello World!” post. Then go to categories. We’re going to edit “Uncategorized”. Use the keyword in the name, slug, and description. Use dashes instead of spaces in the slug.

Picture: http://www.screencast.com/t/EVoDFFxQJA

Change the permalinks (found under the “Settings” tab) to /%postname%.html

Picture: http://www.screencast.com/t/ekszqkmQ

Next we need a theme. Magazine Basic is simple enough and good for SEO purposes. Here are all the changes I would make under Layout Options:

Header and Footer: http://screencast.com/t/fkpsXm1u

Front Page: http://www.screencast.com/t/6IUBkqPEiMg

Sidebars: http://www.screencast.com/t/jbqcjHz2

SEO: http://screencast.com/t/odz7JrN5ZhR3

Here are the plugins I recommend (not sure if all of these are free or not):

Broken Link Checker
cbnet Ping Optimizer
Easy Contact
Easy Privacy Policy
GD Press Tools
Google Analyticator
Google XML Sitemaps
PC Robots.txt
Platinum SEO Pack or All In One SEO
SEO Friendly Images
SEO Smart Links
SEO Super Comments
Smart 404
WP-SpamFree

For the Ping Optimizer, just copy and paste pingler.com’s list. Easy Contact gives simple instructions, just add a new page and type in [easy-contact] into the html and click publish. Easy Privacy Policy is straightforward, too. Just replace @blogname with your keyword and @email with your email. For Platinum SEO, both the Home Title and Home Description should be your main keyword, and for Home Keywords use the same list of related keywords we used for Magazine Basic’s SEO tab.

Adding the Recent Posts Widget: http://www.screencast.com/t/nBoyoBnAg4p

The above is exactly how I get on the first page of Google in as little as two days. Plain and simple. I’ve been on the first page before even posting any content or getting backlinks. Speaking of content…

Content Creation

This part is simple, but for me it was pretty scary at first. I’m not a writer, what on earth am I doing writing content?! Whoa, whoa, whoa. This isn’t how I roll man…but then I learned that it wasn’t that hard. Think of yourself as a reporter. With the keywords we’re targeting, when people come to your site, they’re already interested in a solution. We don’t have to sell them on it, in fact some of them may even have a credit card in hand. They just need a bit more info before they purchase. So that’s what I give them, they info they’re looking for. A simple fact sheet on the pros and cons of the product I’m offering. For research, just look up some reviews and find out what the general concensus is. It’s also a good idea to quote actual reviews. For example: “Definitely worth the price. My feet have never looked better thanks to (product name)” – real review from an Amazon.com user (just an example). You really don’t need anything fancy. Just be willing to step out of your comfort zone.

The review will probably be your money maker, but let’s add some more content that will make us even more search engine friendly. Just Google free plr articles on toe fungus and post about 3 of those on your wordpress site, and rewrite it a little bit to make it fit your related keywords+your main keyword a bit more. This is to get your site up and running, you’ll be adding more content soon.

Traffic Generation

The following traffic techniques almost all involve leaving my link in the bio box, description, etc. Just so I don’t have to repeat myself a lot. For more traffic to the site I would…

Write at least 3 articles every day. If you use Vista then you should have access to some dication software. This will make writing much faster. Do your best, put don’t spend hours a day on this and don’t edit yourself as you go. Write at least 350-400 word articles related to your keyword and submit them to the major article directories like ezine articles, go articles, and articles base. After writing your 3 articles for the day and submitting them, put them together (just one right after another, nothing complicated), add a short promo for your site and a link at the end, and convert it into a PDF. You can do this with Open Office. Congrats, you just created an ebook! Submit this ebook to free-ebooks.net and getfreeebooks.com. Now you need to submit your ebook to document sharing sites like scribd.com and docshare.com. Use Open Office Impress to convert each article into a powerpoint presentation. Submit this presentation to sites like slideshare.net and slideboom.com. Use Camstudio (free screen capture software) to record yourself reading each article. Submit the video to all the popular video sharing sites like youtube.com and metacafe.com. Extract the audio with Audacity (free recording software) and submit it to podcasting sites like podcastalley.com. Tweak the presentation and turn it into a step by step tutorial, then submit this tutorial to tutorial/how-to sites like instructables.com and good-tutorials.com.

You could also look for related questions on sites like Yahoo Answers and Aolanswers, then answer them with a link back to your site as the “source” of your answer.

Blog comment and forum post like crazy in order to get traffic to the site. At least two hours a day of focused comment/forum marketing. It wouldn’t be terribly difficult to get first page rankings with the wp blog assuming the keyword is well chosen, so that would definitely help. I’d also build high PR .edu and .gov backlinks 30 minutes per day to ensure high rankings. Use search strings like “powered by phpbb” site:.edu inurl:/forum to find good sites to build backlinks on.

Scaling

For scalability, outsource this exact system by hiring a virtual assitant or two at somewhere like odesk.com or outsourcesecrets.com. This is probably where you’ll spend the rest of your start up capital. Teach your assitants how to find good products and keywords, send them this “report”, and multiply your marketing efforts.

Good luck!

===========================================================

A little bit reliant on SEO, but what the hell, you put a lot of effort into the plan so I nominated you for a 3rd place prize of $50 Amazon gift card.

Nice work contest winners! I will email you with the info to claim your prize!

I’d also like to give a shout out to the following people who put a lot of effort into your submissions. They were great ideas, just a bit out of the scope of what I was looking for:

Michael Craig <- great idea, but it will most likely take more than a month to test conversions enough to make the campaing profitable.
Kevin <- nice plan, too reliant on SEO though
Rojetta Skone
Ed
Tim
Kaete Mariaca
brandon hunter <- Brandon you were really close to winning one of the spots man, just a little lacking on info on the traffic gen.
Mukund Vijay Kolhatkar <- very out of the box thinking. Keep it up 🙂
Gary Brown <– good idea, but unlikely to get JV partnership without providing value first.
Todd <– great idea, and most likely would work. My only complaint with the idea is that it involves too much offline work.

And of course, a special THANK YOU TO EVERYONE who submitted their plans. You’ve done a great thing by helping develope this new community, and to help other people make money online. I’m so glad to have you as one of my subscribers, and hope I can provide you with a ton of value to come! Thanks, and keep commenting 🙂

Here are the rules for the contest

1) You must comment below with what you think is the best plan to make $2000 in profit in 30 days from scratch using some form of internet marketing.

  • It has to be from scratch – you have no existing website, no mailing lists, no products, nothing. The only tool you start out with is your existing experience.
  • You have $500 start up capital to invest, no more.
  • Has to be done online without selling products that you own (as in your plan can’t be to simply put your car up for auction on ebay)
  • Must be your own  idea <- no copy and pasting ideas!
  • I will judge the plan from the prospective of speed of implementation, cost to implement, and feasibility. Bonus points for scalability.

2)  The more detail you go into (you can post videos too), the more likely you will win.

3) You must comment below and provide your first name and last initial (full last name recommended) and your email address (this is how I’m going to announce the winners/get the info from you on where to send the gift card)

4) Contest length is 7 days starting today Jan 18th

5) Winners and their comments will be acknowledged in the original blog post after the contest has ended.

What you win if your plan is picked as the winner

1) First Place –   $100 Amazon gift card

2) Second Place – $50 Amazon gift card

I also recommend you check back to this page frequently because this is going to be an awesome resource for those who need to make real cash online in a hurry.

That’s all! Good luck, and happy hunting!

I don’t have a website yet so can’t comment, but this very subject is what has held me back. I need to be making a certain sum of money and no one will say what you might have to do to make it. I therefore run from program to program, looking for the one that will cover me the fastest on a monthly basis. Leaving one’s personal motivation out of the equation, I’m really looking forward to the input here and thanks!

Dan, are you so out of ideas that you have to ask us for new ideas? Seems kind of lame to me. I thought you are the expert, so what do you want to learn from rookies?

  6. I will flip my PR3 Blog on Flippa.
Or I will found someone that needs to sell a huge website from PR5 up and I will ask him 20% of total sale price I will get selling website on Flippa.

This is my crazy plan 🙂
Thanks a lot and see you soon!

I purchased your deadbeat course which is excellant and way too cheap. You overdelivered on that one with true actionable steps instead of just a bunch of words.
Using your plan i am going to do the follow
1)Do my keyword research for wireless surround sound speakers. My research shows this a big seller since you dont have to open walls to install the speakers.
    2)Purchase a keyword rich domain.
    3) using wordpress and setting up my amazon affiliate account. wireless surrond being the main site.
    4) Set up maybe up to 10 categories on the site for each manufactures brand
    5) Write articles and submit them to the top ten article directories. Pink and bookmark them
    6) so i have a main site with 10 catagories. each catagory has 6 products. no post only pages for each item
    7) Each individual item has a separate page with review, pictures and video. All articles for the complete site made into videos. so a total of over 100 videos pointing to each individual site, catagory and main page. all videos pinged and rss feed and bookmarked using onlywire to 45 top raning bookmark site.
    8) Every item approximately 60 spin each article and create a linkwheel using wordpress, blogger and the top sites with PR5-9 . all tied together and eventually going back to that individual item. all items pinged, rss feed and bookmarked. This can give me up to all the ten slots on the first page of google for each item.
    8) Create a video sitemap for the site with say over 100 videos.I can put whatever picture i want. submit to the search engines.lots of these will be on the first page of the search engines with the picture i choose and when they click they will go to my site instead of you tube, vimeo etc.
This is how i can get double or triple video listings on the first page. when i submitted each video i submitted to over 100 video sites.Even though you tube is #1 many times dailymotion or others show up higher than google.
    9) During all this time i have built hundreds to thousands of backlinks to the sites. Individual pages and videos. I use Angela and Paul links and EDU and gov for super google juice. On this type of Amazon store this links will get to the top very fast.
    10) Become a junior Deadbeat Superaffiliate and cash those checks while golfing and scuba diving and riding my motorcycle.
    11) Since I have now hundreds of items on the first page of google and all the other sites . traffic is flooding in. all free traffic
    12) Go to the top ten classified sites and submit classified ads with pictures and product descriptions.
    13) Since i have not spent the $500 yet time to rinse and repeat..next site for beach cruiser bikes and wheels and use the above system.
    14) become a senior junior deadbeat affiliate and go golfing and scuba diving.

  8. Max Cook says:

Hey Fran K and Dan Brock,

First thing I do is go to amazon.com in the book section and see what is selling right now.
Once I find a hot selling item, I go to clickbank and find a similar item. Once I get my link, I go to bit.ly.com and shorten it.
Next I go to http://blogsearch.google.com/ and search for blogs with the keywords to the item I just got from clickbank.
When I find a blog, I look at the comments and find a blog that has several RECENT comments. By adding my RELEVANT comment I can get hits rather easily.
By doing this for 15 to 30 minutes a day I have grown my income quit nicely. Once I start getting sales,I go look for another item and repeat. Total cost = $0

  9. Len says:

First, I would set up an Aweber account to catch emails and build my list.

Next I would find some free giveaways or PLR content, then set up a squeeze page and offer the FREE report.

Before i went for a market, i would first do some keyword research on my choice of Niche. Using “Dog Training” to determine the competition.

Then I would go to a website programmer and see if they could make me a software to automate some of my chores for generating traffic.

It would have details of sites where I could post my offer without getting blacklisted.

I.e content sites, directories, blogs, Squiddo…(don’t know if that would be possible, hub pages, RSS feeds sites, etc.

The software would have the ability to search Google for a particular keyword and see how popular it was making it easier to target a buyer profitable keyword.

Then I would find the most popular Clickbank products to sell, here again I would develop a piece of software that would automatically search Clickbank and see which are the best selling and profitable products.

    Something like this anyway.

    Len

  10. admin says:

    @moi,

    I don’t appreciate your comment.

This contest is to help build a free resource for people who desperately need to make money.

The secondary goal here is to get people involved with making money online. I’m realizing that a lot of people are one way with this: just absorbing and not producing.

This will help people get out of their chairs, so to speak.

I gain absolutely nothing out of this contest – in fact I lose $150 in prizes. You’ll also notice that I am not promoting ANYTHING AT ALL here, so please… be a little bit more respectful.

  11. Jeanene says:

STOP buying any more programs (free!)

Choose one good program you have, take ACTION to implement it. My guess is if you work consistently for 30 days at anything you already have in your stash you will easily make $2000+.

  12. Sam Lyons says:

I would sign up as a Amazon Associates to be able to sell Amazon Products. I would then research the best sellers for Electronics and pick say the top four. I would then write articles for each product and put them up on a site that has a domain related to the articles. For instance, If you decide to sell LCD TV’s try to get a dommain like LCDTVREVIEWED.COM
This will get you highly SEO’d for your content and site ranking. Then put the articles up on the site and start marketing the site via SEO, Articles via Ezine Articles.com, Submit your site to Google, Yahoo, and Bing. Also submit your site to social marketing platforms like Pingomatic. This should result in sales. Let me know your thoughts. I will be glad to answer any questions also.

  13. Julie says:

Realistically, I don’t know if you can do this because most online businesses simply take time to grow. But, here you go…..

With $500, you could purchase a few keyword rich domains (I would get the FREE trial from Market Samurai to research this quickly to narrow down the best keywords),several QUALITY niche PLR products that you ADD a significant personal touch in the writing and graphics (which you could outsource some of using forums, oDeask, etc.) to put up on your site – some you will sell, some will build your list.

Then purchase a premium website design already built (use WordPress) for a blog (again find from forums-less than $50). Add affiliate products (physical & digital) related to your niche, quality posts to the blog, and….

lastly, you will need traffic – social bookmarking, social media, forum posting, and all the other traffic-generating resources. You would probably need to get some serious backlink juice to get the traffic quickly to make any real shot at 1st page search engine within 30 days.

It would take some time to do all this – whatever money you had left, you could outsource for the things you hate to do.

In the meantime, figure out your strengths, and try to make money with this as a service – post it in the forums, or come up with a spectacular WSO.

Get involved in JV Giveaways to build your list and obtain more products for free. Put some of your best rebuilt PLR products for sale on Clickbank or PayDotcom.

This is not the best way to run a business being all over the place, but if you HAD to make $2000 quickly, it is possible doing all of these things.

For LONG term results, build a business and focus on your strengths and stop falling for every get rich product that just collects proverbial dust on your desktop or hard drive. This will give you $2000 a month consistently – over time.

    Whew!!!

  14. Lenny says:

    I’ll give three 🙂
    1) Spend 10 days creating 5 PLRs a day for highly profitable keywords. Sell PLR on WarriorForum and DP.
    2) Select a highly converting CPA offer, write 10 ezine articles a day to direct people to your landing page. Ezine takes a week to approve articles. Backlink the articles when they come out. You can create a landing page free in blogger. How do you know what to write about? Look for ezine articles with backlinks or many views.
    3) Are you a programmer or designer? Create a product or plugin and/or advertise your services.

  15. Brad says:

Hmm… going from $0 to $2,000 profit in one month without spending $2k or more.

Short of flipping websites / domains as already mentioned by Nancy I’m not sure any model would really do this for a complete beginner.

If it was this simple to make money online I am sure we’d see a lot more people doing it. I know people who have been working on websites for years to make $1,000 per month on a steady basis.

I think a goal of hitting $200 in one month is a lot more realistic although even that is probably way too high for many people.

I suppose if a person happened to find just the right niche with a lot of demand and then a person found just the right quality product that niche market is looking for and the product pays a high commission of $50 or more per sale then a person may have a chance to do this. But even in this scenario, it’d take 40 sales to make $2,000.

So, then we have the number… 40 sales. Now assume 1% of the people who click from a person’s web page to the product site actually buy. That is 1 out of 100. This means they’d need to get 4,000 visitors from their web page to the product sales page in a month’s time.

But that is only the start. First they have to get people to visit their web page!

And assuming they get a whopping 5% of the visitors to their web page to click over to the product sales page. They’d need 80,000 visitors to their web page.

I think my math is correct, isn’t it?

80,000 people visit their web page.
5% of those (4,000 people) click over to the product sales page.
1% of those (40 people) buy the product.
    40 x $50 commission per sale = $2,000

Looking at it broken down like this I honestly just don’t see it happening.

Like how will they get traffic to their web page to begin with? If they could somehow get indexed and ranked highly for enough search terms they could pull in 80,000 visitors per month but the odds are greatly against them doing this faster than 6 months.

So, I guess they could start writing articles. To get 80,000 visitors to their web page all they need is to write about 10,000 articles and submit to the top 3 article directories.

Yeah, I think article marketing is definitely out. ha ha

PPC could get some traffic flowing but the money they have to work with would be exhausted by the time they get to half of the amount of visitors needed assuming they have $400 to spend and manage to get 1-cent clicks.

It’ll be interesting to see what people come up with.

Even if one can increase the conversion / ctr double at each step they’re still looking at needing 20,000 visitors within a month to reach $2,000 on a $50 sale.

But then even getting a $50 sale is not common. More likely people see commissions in the $10 to $20 range. At least for digital products.

If there is a way for people to get the traffic then of course they can make the money.

Problem is it is not so simple to do. If it was I’d spend each month building a new $2,000 per month income! =)

Option 1. I would head over to Oprah.com and see what she is talking about since she has mind control over so many Americans. I would then try to find a related product on Clickbank/CJ/PayDotCom with a gravity no lower than 75. From here I would head to Quantcast/Compete/Google Ad Planner to have a look at the traffic this particuler offer is receiving. I would use the Adwords keyword tool to get a list of possible domain names and choose the one with no more than 35,000 page results (easier to get 1st page rankings) I would start off using a free blogger.com account since these are google owned they get indexed faster. From here I would set up a WordPress blog and be sure to add the Mobile Edition plugin so that my site is easily readable on mobile devices.

Cost to implement. $8.99 for Domain. $9/month for hosting

Option 2. Sign up for an email auto-responder.Sign up with mobile ad platform such as Mojiva or Admob( CPC as low as 5cents) From here I would create a mobile optimized squeeze page that only required the viewer to input their email address. Once the email address is entered they will be presented with a page that says “Check Email From Home Computer” They are now on my list and I can begin sending them information about the products I am promoting.

Cost to implement $19/month Auto-Responder. $50 minimum to run campaign on Admob.

Go to Clickbank and register as an affiliate (free). Find some products that look like they’ll solve the need / problem.

Go back to the forum with you clickbank goodies and reply to those posts you got the cb links for with their solution.

Make sure you also set up a paypal account so you’ve got a repository to handle the oncoming cash tsunami.

See Don Dolenec’s comment. That is money in the bank and will not even cost you the total $500 if you do it right. I would have posted something very similar myself, but you beat me to it Dan. This blog post has the potential to be the gift that keeps on giving!

  19. James Penn says:

$2,000 from scratch in one month would be difficult – but definitely do-able. Here’s a plan I suggest.

This method can be done completely for free so let’s first say you can put the $500 aside and therefore only need to make $1,500. If that’s not allowed then you just have to work that little bit harder to make the 2k.

    1. Use a site like jvnotifypro.com to find upcoming product launches in the next 2-3 weeks.

    2. Choose one product to start with and create a free blogger blog at blogger.com which includes the product keywords and then something like “review” so deadbeataffiliatereview.blogger.com for example.

    3. Write a review of the product (try to negotiate a free copy from the author by explaining that you intend to be an affiliate) and post it to your blog.

    4. Optimize your blog for keywords such as “product name review”, “buy product name”, “author name review” etc. Perhaps even write a new post to target each keyword.

To optimize for each keyword make sure:

    – the blog post title contains your keywords
    – your keywords are mentioned a couple of times throughout the post
    – bold your keywords
    – use your keywords in image titles and descriptions

    5. Now it’s all about boosting your SE ranking through backlinks. This can be done by writing and submitting articles to article directories such as EzineArticles.com,
    GoArticles.com, AssociatedContent.com etc.

Make sure you use anchor text for your links and link back to each blog post using the keywords you intend to target.

    6. Hopefully, come launch day lots of people decide to do a google search for “product name review” to check to see if it’s a good product, they’ll read your positive review and a good proportion will purchase through your link.

    7. Since the setting up of your blog only takes a few hours and then promoting it will only take a few hours more, we could set one of these up each day to multiply our income.

    Hope this helps someone.

    Good contest Dan.

  22. Mark Fisher says:

    Hi!

    Here’s what I would do.
This process depends entirely on affiliate products.

    1. Choose 5-10 products that have high conversions. You’ll need some pretty hot sellers, so get on JV lists and email the gurus for their hottest
goods. With a bit of luck you’ll get some exclusives, and this is where you will make your money. Also, go after the latest launches from proven best sellers.

You’ll need a large batch of emails, banners, and text ads ready made.

    2. Buy loads of really cheap solos, banners and text ads. Track every click and you’ll soon have clear winners. This will take 2-3 days for your first round. Each day, start a new round of tests with brand new material. Make sure you properly record and track your results.

    3. For any sales you make, put those ads into round 2, and blast them as much as you can. Re-post the ads that brought the highest traffic as well. This should happen every time you make one sale for an item. At first, you’ll be spending more per item because you need to know the ratios as quickly as you can. This money you can make back in the next phase.

    3. You’ll end up with stats for much money you made from each piece of advertising. These are your stats for untargeted traffic – you must multiply this by five or ten to estimate what your real profit would be.

    Week 2-

Now you can put in some real traffic which you can buy, for example adwords or other networks, targeted ezine solo ads, and adswaps. So long as you spend less on each ad than your estimated earnings for that ad, you’ll be in profit.
NEVER spend money on ads you haven’t tested with cheap traffic first.

In 2 weeks you should have enough time to do several rounds of tests for different products, and you’ll also have stats for your top performing ads, which are worth much more than the money you’ll get.

    Week 3
Build a subscriber list with the traffic too, you’ll need to split-test squeeze pages which are targeted to your affiliate promotions. Create an autoresponder crammed with the solos that drew traffic, and feed as much traffic as you can to the squeeze pages. Calculate how much money you made per lead, and offer to pay affiliates 50% or more of this money to gather leads for you.

    Week 4
    Stay in bed.

I have a way to get SEO traffic so fast you can’t blink but that’s another story!

  23. Dead Beat Newbie says:

I would pick an IM product from Clickbank, maybe DBSA, i’d go to the WF find someone with a good list, something between $80 to $100, don’t what to spend to much when you don’t have much, so you will go to the affiliate site, in this case DBSA, pick one email to send and that’s it.

    Wash, rinse and repeat.

  24. Ami says:

I would make a few small investments – hosting (I pay $10 a month for mine, but if you’re new, you can often find coupons for your first month for $1 or so), and a few domains (about $10 each).
Find out about a new product about to be released. The easiest way is to sign up to JV Notify Pro and learn about upcoming product launches, but the IM niche is competitive and while it may give you the best return on your investment, it’s not for the faint of heart. You could also use an example of a new electronic about to come out (like a TV model for example).
Purchase a domain to promote each product, trying to get an “exact match” keyword domain, like the exact product model or the name of a new product plus the words “review” or “bonus”.
Build a small blog, making sure to initially sprinkle your keywords on the blog anywhere you can (category, tag, descriptions, etc). Right a few posts reviewing the product the best you can.
Here are your next investments – Visit ODesk and look for or post a job for hire for someone to create profile backlinks. These types of links are often found in Paul or Angela’s packets, but can take for ever to build yourself when you could be researching products, building sites, or writing content. You’ll most likely spend about $30-$45 for 100 or so links. As for a spreadsheet of the links themselves as proof they’ve been created, because not all of these links will show up in Site Explorer or Backlink Watch. Ping each of these links once. You can also consider making an RSS feed of the links or social bookmark them all in order to create backlinks to your backlinks.
Also invest in an article network. There are a variety of ones out there, but my two favorites are Unique Article Wizard and Distribute Your Articles. UAW is $67 a month and DYA is a bit cheaper if you buy a longer package (I just got 3 months for $80, which is about $27 a month). You don’t need both.
Join Social ADR for free, though you may consider spending $20 or so to set up different bookmarking accounts and or get a package or two of credits. You’ll create a bookmark that will be shared with the Social ADR network on a regular basis (visit their site for all the rules, but the whole system can be free if you’d like). You may also consider a few Web 2.0 properties pointing back to your site for links.
If you’re promoting an IM launch, you’ll want some kind of bonus. This COULD be PLR (which you can purchase for a few dollars), or you could offer a service (like building someone’s blog, writing articles, creating backlinks, etc), or if the commission is high enough, consider even offering a tangible item like an electronic as a bonus (which you only have to send out after the refund period, which is also after you have your commissions and can afford it).
There are a couple of specific programs that teach this kind of “launch jacking”, but I don’t want to be promoting a course on Dan’s blog (too spammy). If you do have $500 to invest (and with the above steps, you’ve probably invested $150 max), you may want to consider that additional training (but ONLY if you take action on it. Training in exact methods are awesome, but a course WILL NOT make you money. You need to take action on what you learn :))!

  25. Im assuming your talking about a making 20k from a newbie standpoint without a huge mailing list?

The only way i have found is to study launch jacking. and promote as many launches as possible.

its the best way. the easiest way.

  26. Verlyn says:

You need to stay focused and work every day. You do not have money so the only thing you have which is actually more valuable than money now days is your time.

I would first call not email a hosting company like Hostgator. I have them as my hosting provider and just got a $100 free coupon for Adwords in the mail. Ask them if you sign up will they send you a free coupon or what kind of deal can you get. Even with Internet the best way is still belly to belly sometimes. If you do get it then you have some bullets for an Adwords campaign.

Then find an affiliate product that a lot of people are on the Internet asking questions at Yahoo Answers. This must pay out commissions of from $20 to $50. Not too much so that you can not make $100 a day without too much work daily in a week or so. But that is up to you to decide.

Buy a domain name after doing a Google keywords took search for a long tail term that gets at least 1000 searches per month. This will be your main term but keep a list of related terms. The best is to do a search for “exact match” product related terms. There has to be at least 5 terms that come up in the search with the product name in them. These will be your main terms. Do not forget to do a search for coupon codes to get discounts on domains. GoDaddy domains that are .com can be have to under $8/yr.

Start a WordPress blog and post 3-5 300 word posts. Forget about all the fancy stuff you are after clicks so have it clean and neat. No adsense, no off topic banners, no archives, no tags showing, no side bar full of advertising. Clean and simple. Nothing to distract you customers from doing anything buy clicking where you want them to go….period!

There is good chance of your new blog getting into the Google Sandbox so do not count on your blog for organic results for any decent listings. You have to work on other methods for traffic and eventual sales.

Posts must have at least two H2 tags with related terms in post and be a pre-sales page to your affilate product to warm up your customer to what is coming when they click on the link. Put one link in middle of post above fold and one below for a total of two links per post. Ping your posts and digg them. Also submit your blog Rss feed to the Rss directories but you do not have to go crazy as the Rss feed will get scraped. I am not going into optimizing or plug ins as that is too much to say here. But for sure add the XML sitemap for Google and All in One SEO.

Set up Google alerts for RSS for the Yahoo Answers category of your affiliate product. There must be multiple open questions per day for this to give you enough possible customers for sales. Set up multiple alerts with various Rss feeds if possible. The more the better but remember you will have to follow up.(Check Google Trends and Yahoo trends for possible “hot” ideas too)

Yahoo Answers lets you answer only so many per day initially until you reach a certain level so you may have to open up a few accounts. And you can not hyperlink in the resource box until you reach 250 points but that is not an issue. If people really want to get their problems solved or get rid of some kind of pain they will paste your links. Remember that last sentence it is vital for your success.

Work as many as you can, you only have month. Even if answers are closed people still do searches and will click or paste your link. Do not post your blog link in the resource box. Go to Bit.ly and shorten it. And not only shorten it also use the “cutomize” tool to add a custom URL with you keyword in it. This is also key! Then use this link as you resource box URL. And you can see the metrics in your Bit.ly account too! Emotion and visualization is vital. Get into your customers heads.

Do not be salesy! Answer in a general sense. Give a story as everyone likes to read stories of other peoples troubles or ways to solve problems. Makes them feel like they are not the only ones with issues.

Once your blog is indexed in a few days write a press release at PRlog. It is free and gives you some Google “love” if you do it right. Other press sites will also scrape it and possibly help you get some hits to the blog. With any luck you could also get into Google News and that would be sweet too!

You can do other social bookmarking if you want to. It can’t hurt. This is a plug in option to have posts automatically go to some social sites for your blog if you wish. Less work for you.

Post every other day for the entire month. Little trick that Google likes for blogs. Keep hitting your alerts whenever you can. The early bird gets the worm. If you are not willing to do the work you will fail.

Yes, technology is cool but ask Dan how many hours per day he spent when he first got started? I am sure he was not sleeping in his throne like he is now in the latest videos 🙂

There are other details to this method. Depends on your experience. And there are tools out there to help make it easier. You have to decide which ones will help grow your business. Which ones are the most important at this point in time to make you money and not just keep on buying and not do the daily work. 90% work…10% checking your accounts!!!!

Your goal is to get this set up in a week and then get to work. Beginning the second week shoot for $100 days. At $20 a pop that is 5 sales. At $50 that is 2. You decide what to go after. Should give you enough time go make the $2K but will still require a lot of work and your time.

Hope this is easy to follow and helps some people out. I have followed Dan for a long time and purchased his products so I felt that I owed him something back for all that he has done for me. He really cares for his peeps. So help him out if you can he deserves it!

  28. Audrey S. says:

    Dan-
We all agree that people are very “hungry” for information that will ACTUALLY earn them money in a short period of time. So I would start up a WORKING mentoring system.
You the expert PERSONALLY mentor 5 people. They pay you X and you work with them to set up a working affiliate offer.
They become your certified trainers to in turn teach other offers from a system that you have in place.

If you could get a working system with 5 people each week, and they could get a working system with 5 people each of the following weeks. You would have an agreed upon charge of $100.00 per/person once you are a certified mentor with the skills and the actual system in place. Each person getting trained would have to agree to the $100.00 charge, but also understand that there will be other charges (website name, hosting, autoresponder, etc.) A large number of people would have the skills to mentor then with your customized program and be able to charge $100.00 per week to work with each of their mentees (5 per week) They would easily be able to have people “in the system” and earn $2000.00 just mentoring the certified program. But in addition, each time they put together a “qualified” affiliate offer as an example to their mentees, they would also be building a lucrative ongoing business for themselves.
I volunteer to take a week off of work and work with you to be your first certified mentor 🙂 It is just that people need more hand holding then what the videos bring them. The videos are great backup, but they aren’t enough and they don’t hold a person accountable.

Thanks for asking. I have always wanted affordable one-on-one from someone who is a successful affiliate. That is where I had this idea. My desire to have it fulfilled and I hope you like the idea.

My website is still a work in progress and I am just beginning with the blog feature. I have used ideas from different programs because not unlike others I have jumped from system to system trying to make a go of it.

I don’t know the answer to this question but I love the challenge presented. Great responses so far. Well done Dan. Brilliant concept.

  30. Verlyn S says:

Sorry I forgot one step for the above method. For a few bucks a month you can get a OneTrueMedia account and make some real cool videos. Once you make them for your offer download them to your computer. This way there is no advertising their site on the video.

Get a TubeMogul account and upload the videos. You can just do YouTube if you want but TubeMogul gets you more bang for your time. Make the videos short no longer than 1 1/2 minutes tops. Put your affiliate link in a frame at the end so people do not download it and then re-upload it to steal it. Yes, that does happen!

Use your keyphrases as the title and also put your url in the description first. Then again use your keyphrase in the description for any SEO you can get.

Make the videos interesting and upload as many as you can per day. Try for 5-10 if you have the time. They are actually fun to make once you get going.

  31. Martin says:

    Hi Dan,
Thanks for the opportunity to give my input. If I had the $500 I would buy a tank of gas and a six pack! Seriously, I’m one of those folks who have crashed and burned over the past three years. I lost my six figure job of 30 some years, house & cars – everything but my wife and my excellent heath. I’m working on a free wireless (unsecured) connection and just lost my blog because I couldn’t pay the annual hosting fee.
However, I do love all of the free material you put out and I’ve even learned some new things from this blog. I just started a new blog on Blogger this weekend and I’ll start implementing some of these ideas in the morning! My aim is to build a solid foundation, offer solid value and develop long term customers. I know that this will take more than 30 days and won’t win me any prizes but I’m tired of chasing the fast buck. Maybe I could buy five hundred followers for a buck each, get on the morning news for being an idiot and go viral!
    Thanks again – Bob

First of all Dan, Thank you for having me on your list. As a matter of fact I unsubscribed from all other lists I was on because I find it that you’re the only one next to Dave Guindon who seem to care your students succeed. I tweaked your deadbeat method a little and I am making a very satisfying income.
To make $2000 in 30 days from scratch seems challenging but it is feasible. To achieve that goal I would do the following:
1- As self-help niche is a very hot one nowadays, I would look for merchants that pay per CPA for their affiliates.
2- Pick the ones that pay the highest.
3- Keyword research for the ones that receive less competition between 2000 and 5000 a month.
4- With just a 17% conversion rate, I would have a 850 prospects that would be willing to fill out a form or submit an email address. With a CPA of just $3.00, that would bring me $2550.00.
4- Since I am using this method myself, I am not going into details but the first three steps are the most important ones. Build a very clean website with enough keyword rich content.
5- Submit articles to directories with links to the website using targeted keywords.
5- post on Social media networks and forums with links back to my articles rather than website.
6- this step should have been above. purchase a keyword rich domain and host it for just a month to see how it will work out.
    And Good luck

  37. Hey Dan. here’s my plan.

I’d set up a facebook social ads account.

Next, gone to Clickbank and CBEngine to determine which products are hot.

Then, set up my a targeted cheap ad on facebook, targeting countries, interests, separate ads for males and female and other demographic stuff like age, marital status, etc.

$500 will be more than enough to get plenty of targeted converting traffic from facebook directly to the sales page of the hottest product(s)

From that moment on it’s rinse and repeat until I hit $2,000

  39. Jonathan says:

I would help local businesses get more business through IM.
    Two methods I’d use/offer both:
    1. Google places – easy, free, no website needed. Business owners are clueless, but amazed when you show them what you can do – get them on page one of google places. $300 to set up and claim their site. $300/month to keep it on page 1 google places.

    2. Offer local businesses a review that will get their business on page 1 google for their area. Use keywords: “(their niche) in (local area)”, “Top (their niche) in (local area”, and “Best (their niche) in (local area)”. Write reviews for them in Associated Content & Squidoo. $200 to set up. $200/month to keep their business on page 1 google.

$500 to place a local business on page 1 google places, and page 1 google.
4 local businesses for this service = $2000
To keep the business on page 1 google places, and google search = $500/month X 4 = $2000/month

  43. Alex says:

The answer depends on the time of the year.

Seasonal marketing is very powerful so set up ads on facebook – not accepting their estimate, pay half, for flowers or whatever the next seasonal trend is.

Check dates in google insights. Get an affiliate link and use in Facebook to drive traffic to merchant.

Spend enough to get 100 clicks and then pause, tweak ads and repeat. Repeat this until you are getting sales and if you need to plough profits back into paying for more clicks. Keep challenging your best ad as you go.

    and good luck!

    🙂

  44. Tim Merchant says:

    Simple.

I’d have a look to see what books, dvds, games and festivals are happening in 30 days time. I would drill down and find ones that match criteria i.e. creator/owner/authors previous successes, level of hype/buzz, price of product or service and market competition.

After sifting through and finding 20 products that matched the crtteria I would put up simple review sites for each one. Fire up some links and basic SEO to make them rank for a buying keyword.

Most of the work would be done already as id get an absolute match domain name:

for books i would use booknamereview,
for dvds i would use buydvdname
for festivals i would use festivalname 2011 tickets

After 2 weeks i would see which sites out of the 20 are ranking on position 1. For the ones that wernt I would build more links.

Then one week before i would take the sites that havent managed number one spot and use the remainder of the $500 seed capital to set up Facebook PPC Ad’s and Google Adwords campaigns for buying keywords. This way they wont go to waste and should still capture a fair amount of the traffic.

Finally I would watch my profit grow as each site rides the avalanche of traffic and sales off the back of other peoples hard marketing work.

And then of course start all over again 🙂

  45. Dave says:

I would set up and host a webinar, inviting someone like Dan (hint, hint) to come and do his pitch for a 50/50 split 😉
I would find potential sign ups through targeting people with large number of followers and friends/fans on Twitter and Facebook. Webinars convert at least 10x better than any sales page and I am sure I will kill the $2000 mark with this method alone.

I’d collect all emails and build a huge list to which I’d continue inviting to new webinars.

Should be able to quit my job after the first couple of months 🙂

Watch out for my mail Dan 😉

Oooh, if I was to win one of the vouchers I would like you to donate it to any charity or organization you see fit.

    Keep up the good work

    Dave

Dan, you are going to find a lot of naysayers in this business. Even when they have bought your program. I purchased your program, and even though I haven’t made any sales yet, I believe I will soon. I appreciate what you are trying to do here. Some people don’t realize that the creators of programs like yours, is designed to make you money, but also to help other people make money as well. Don’t worry, and don’t even listen to people like that, they are not worth your time. Keep up the good work Dan, and if you have any more suggestions that will help us struggling deadbeats, they would be greatly appreciated.

  48. Tim says:

I would find a hungry market that is desperate to solve their problem, perhaps something such as a spouse who suspects they are being cheated on.

I would then find a few Clickbank products such that show how to “catch a cheating spouse” then get a longtail keyword rich domain at Go Daddy (Please note I will be using a Promo code such as “cjctld749” to get the domain for $7.49

I would then set up a hosting account with Hostgator and put together a wordpress sniper site. The site would have some keyword rich articles on it, I would then obviously ping the search engines, as well as submit to social bookmarking sites as well.

My main product would be a the “catch your spouse cheating product” however I would also promote something as “Spy Bubble” as a method of catching your spouse cheating.

Not only that I would find some products on Amazon both books and DVD’s that talk about how to deal with infidelity as well as an affiliate promotion such as Marriage Sherpa (you can make $78 commission on their infidelity product and it is a physical product so it has more value in most peoples eyes than an ebook) on how to get over being cheated on.

Then I would start writing my articles and submiting them to Ezine and other major article directories such as Goarticles. After about 1 to 2 weeks I would use a site such as “revisitors” to send traffic to the article so that it gets into the most viewed category. I would use Traffic Plan 3 which is 10,000 visitors for $50.

I would then hit up a PLR Store and find me some bonus ebooks to give away as a bonus for purchasing through my link (perhaps things such as Stress reduction, body language, etc. Then set up an Aweber account for a $1 and use some of my articles as tips that I would mail out. Obviously I would use one of the PLR ebooks I purchased to give away for signing up to my newsletter. Then head over to “catch your spouse cheating forums” and give some helpful tips on how to best catch your spouse and of course encourage people to visit my affiliate site.

I would then create another forum profile or 2 and then ask some fake questions and then answer them very helpfully with my main profile a bit later with my “Catch cheating spouse profile” A few days later I would thank that person for their help and say that I caught the “cheating bastard” and that their recommendation “my affiliate link” was helpful.

Then I am heading over to some “how to deal with infidelity” forums and repeating the process again answering questions helpfully and then recommending “Marriage Sherpa” as well as creating a couple of fake forum profiles that need help dealing with the range of emotions they are going through.

I will then of course answer my own questions with my link and then a week or two later reporting back that things are getting better between my spouse and I and thanks for the wonderful advice.

Since I will have about $350 to $400 left over I would then spend about $200 on adwords for that particular niche, then I would take a gamble and find a High dollar object on Commission Junction and also set up some adword campaigns on that as well, since it is easier to make a $2,000 commission selling one high dollar item than it is to sell 100 $20 commission products.

Some of my methods may be a bit Black Hat but they do work.

  49. Amber says:

    Dan,

You’re one of the good guys. This thread is a great way to exchange ideas and get the creative juices flowing.

    @Moi, I agree with @jcdean, you are a Jackass!

  50. Tim says:

Amber, I agree with you completely Dan is the man and as you way one of the “Good Guys” I have said it many times before Dan Brock is one of the few Internet Marketers along with Mike Long, Kelly Felix, and Travis Sago that I actually trust and that I believe are looking out for the best interest of their customers.

  51. Brad says:

If you manage to get a truly workable plan out of this it certainly would be valuable information.

I noticed over at backagainstthewall.org someone is selling a product that poses the same challenge & solution… only there’s perhaps has a more realistic target of reaching $1,000 in 30 days.

I keep checking the list here each day at your site, Dan, to see how things are going. Thinking someone out there may come up with a real plan that will actually work to reach your $2,000 in 30 Day Goal.

So far, we’ve seen a lot of good ideas combining a multitude of techniques that from experience we can be pretty sure will not make it past $100 in one month.

I mean they are good plans… very solid for building a good longterm business but not for reaching $2k in 30 days. Heck, some of them will take 2 to 3 weeks of work just to get everything set-up! lol

But the point is people are putting their thinking hats on so it is all good stuff.

I’ve not completely stopped on this either. Just never really considered before going from $0 to $2k all inside a month starting completely from scratch. Sounds like selling some kind of big-ticket item may be where we should focus.

Anyway, this was a great idea you had!

  52. Alex says:

I guess if it is the limited time that is the problem then we need a very high commish. So we choose from jvnotify one of the high ticket clickbank products. That will get us a commish of 50% of a $2000 product.

We buy a domain with the name of the product and review in it.

Using the affiliate material get a preselll page on a blog we install on the domain. We will need some of our funds to buy plr products for a bonus and some for juicy graphics.

The rest of the funds we use to build links to our launch blog – senuke/build my rank, unique article wizard right up to the end of our time.

We just need 2 sales and this is doable but not certain.

    🙂

  53. Ed says:

    Hey Dan,

Ya know, this thread is going to make SOMEBODY a boatload of cash.

Let me give you an example:

A few months back, I think it was James Yi who did it, somebody put out an ebook that supposedly answered the all elusive question, “What’s the Secret?”

All this ebook turned out to be was how this guy took just 1 thread from the Warrior Forum and dissected it into more manageable chunks. I personally bought it, went through it from cover to cover, and got entirely p.o.’d because it really didn’t teach me anything that I didn’t already know… EXCEPT… how to think a little more “outside the box”.

Not a bad idea, I thought, when you consider just how many copies he apparently sold. Sure, there was probably a rather large refund rate, but I don’t know for sure what that may have been. Still, not a bad idea to monetize.

Personally, if it were me needing to make $2K inside of a month from “ABSOLUTE DEAD ZERO”, here’s what I’d do…

    #1 (MOST IMPORTANT): RESEARCH
Look for a hungry market. Yeah, I know… “How do I do that?”
    Google Insights for Search
    Google Trends
    Amazon
    Ebay
    etc.

These places have “Hot Selling Product” listings. Find a few that interest you and make note of all the specific info related to each product. Also take note of the seller’s product sales page web address (NOT THE SELLER’S MAIN SITE, just the sales page)

#2 Take that info over to Compete.com and enter the web addresses of each product’s sales page. The results you get will give you a fair estimation of the amount of traffic the page gets. Lots of traffic = lots of sales (possibly). If the site has a fair amount of monthly traffic, go for it, if not, pick another site that does.

Next, take your product info over to Google’s Keyword tool and FIRST run the product NAME through the keyword tool, being sure to check the box which will “Suggest Other Keywords” also.

Copy the results into an excel style spreadsheet and save it to your desktop (it’s easier to find that way). These keywords will give you MASSIVE DATA regarding the product itself such as: Monthly LOCAL and GLOBAL searches, as well as, the amount of competition out there. (we’ll get to the “What to do with these keywords” in a bit)

Next, in the keyword tool, enter in the WEB ADDRESSES of the product sales pages. This will give you a list of KEYWORDS that the sales page is PRESENTLY USING. (WORTH IT’S WEIGHT IN GOLD) Next Copy all of the results you get, again, into an excel file and save it to your desktop.
Again, run THESE keywords through Google’s keyword tool and save the results. (any keywords that have a GLOBAL MONTHLY SEARCH of 50,000 or more should be considered SECONDARY KEYWORDS. Keywords that have 50,000 GLOBAL Monthly Searches or LESS (nothing less than 8500), should be considered your PRIMARY KEYWORDS

#3 Go to your favorite domain registrar and get a KEYWORD RICH domain name (cost about $10.00). So, for example, if you were going to promote a product about “Gourmet Recipes From Around The World” try to pick a domain name that has as many of these keywords in it as possible, like http://www.globalgourmetrecipes.com.

Depending on what your level of experience is, you can elect to have the domain registrar also HOST your domain ( I personally would NOT do this) or you can redirect your domain name to a separate hosting service (HostGator, JustHost, etc.).

As to the type of hosting package to get… there’s all sizes and they all allow you to do different things, but, I would suggest getting a package that allows you to set up “Wild Card Subdomains”. You’ll see why in a bit. Basically, it’s a “Re-Seller” account.

#4 Go back to your domain registrar and “Point” your domain name to your hosting service (most registrars will have tutorials on how to do this). The “DNS Transfer” usually takes somewhere from 12 – 48 hours. Once the transfer is complete, you’ll need to set up your new domain on your hosting account. Again, most hosting companies have tutorials to show you how to do this.

#5 In your hosting account’s Cpanel, you’ll need to set up what’s called a “Cron Job”. Now, don’t get all freaked out. It’s a piece of cake. Take a look at the tutorial on how to do this from within your host’s help/support area. Takes maybe about 25 seconds to set up.

#6 Again, in your Cpanel, find the icon for Fantastico (or fantasico deluxe). Click on the icon. On the next page, look for where it says “WordPress” and click on it. This will install a wordpress blogging platform on your site. Again, if you have trouble, look at the tutorial.

#7 Once your wordpress blog is installed, you’ll need to go into your blog dashboard and get some “Plug-ins”. Scroll to where it says “Plug-Ins” and click on it. Next, you’ll want to search Plug-Ins. You’re looking for a few different plug-ins which leave all of the “heavy lifting” to the blog.
Get the “All-In-One-SEO” plug-in, the “Google XML Site Map” plug-in, and look for a plug-in that will automatically go out to Amazon.com and fetch product images as well as the descriptions and automatically post them to your blog. You may also want to find an “Adsense” plug-in as well. (there’s a TON of Adsense plug-ins available, so you can afford to be a little picky). Next, you’ll need the same type of plug-in that you got for Amazon, but, this one will be for Ebay. Next, find a “You-Tube” plug-in that will automatically go to “You-Tube” and get videos related to your product or topic, by keyword, and automatically post these videos to your blog. And lastly, find a plug-in that will go to different article directories and find you “Keyword Related Articles” and automatically post them to your blog.
*NOTE* These are just a few of the plug-ins that you’ll need. There’s a GAZILION more available, both FREE as well as PAID, but these should get you up and running.

#8 Find a “Blog Theme” that you like (not too ‘Graphic Intensive’). You could use the Trellain theme, as it has a good, clean look to it and it’s fairly easy to incorporate the Adsense plug-in into it.

#9 Now that you’ve got the blog set up, depending on which plug-ins you’ve selected, you’ll need to enter all of those keywords you got from Google before and make the plug-in do it’s thing.

What will happen: The blog plug-ins go out to their respective sites and get you the content, as well as the product images and autopost them to your site in a NEW SUBDOMAIN under your Main Domain BY KEYWORD.

    Example: Sitename http://www.globalgourmetrecipes.com
Keyword used : “Gourmet Spanish Recipes”
New Subdomain Generated by the plug-in : http://www.Gourmetspanishrecipes.globalgourmetrecipes.com

    Next example: Sitename http://www.globalgourmetrecipes.com
Keyword used : “Irish Salsa Recipes”
New Subdomain Generated by the plug-in :www.irishsalsarecipies.globalgourmetrecipes.com

So, basically what happens is, for each keyword or keyword phrase you enter into the plug-in, it fetches the content and posts it to your blog under a new subdomain. The really nice thing about this is that for each new subdomain, you’ll only be targeting 1 keyword and all of the content being auto-published will be targeting JUST THAT KEYWORD. Talk about RELEVANCE!!! Google will love it and reward you with better rankings, which in turn, gets you more traffic, which in turn, makes you more sales.

Now, how much can this little set-up bring in? Well, that depends. If you’ve found a “Hot” market, you’ll probably do very well. Conversely, if you’re trying to sell “Pig Bellies” to someone who’s looking for “Computer Flash Drives”, you might not do so well.

The trick here is to get the RIGHT plug-ins at the onset. Some may cost a few bucks, but there’s a ton of free ones that will do practically the same things. Just as long as you can set the amount of items brought back by the plug-ins as well as set up the times that they will post (usually 2-3 products and 2 or 3 articles a day works best)you should be in clover in no time. BEAR THIS IN MIND… This WILL NOT bring you $2K/month. What WILL bring you $2K/month is to continue doing this over and over and over CONSISTENTLY for at least a few weeks. It’s a gradual climb, but as the saying goes, the end result will certainly justify the means.

If you do this every day for different markets, by the end of 30 days, I’d be highly surprised if you didn’t wind up with WELL over $2K.

    Costs involved:
    $10 or less for domain names – 30 = $300
    About $25 – $49 Monthly for hosting
    Paid Plug-ins anywhere from $5 – $$75

    So, Get Crackin

    … Because …

  54. Ryan Tai says:

Since we do not have anything, i.e. no existing websites, no mailing lists and no existing product of your own then I reckon that there is only one way that you can do. But, you have to be hardworking everyday till the 30th day. Here is the plan :

    1. Open many Twitter accounts (which is free). Search for phrases that are pertaining to problems that people are facing. Twitter is the best place to start with because people like to tweet about their problems. Phrases like “how to lose weight” or “computer too slow” or “how to stop dog barking”, “panic anxiety” etc…But, remember to put a “-http” at the end of the phrase to filter out all the IM Marketers.

    2. Once you got the search results, go to ClickBank, OfferVault, PayDotCom, etc… to look for a product to promote. Get your affiliate link and shorten it using bit.ly

    3. Reply each of them in a courteous manner like a friend with only 2 sentences. Twitter do not accept more than 2 sentences of words. Attach your shortened link at the end of the sentences. Twitter do not block you from replying to many people. Example of courteous reply is : “Hey, I understand how hard it is with a slow comp. Check this out. It will help. ”

    4. Repeat this everyday with all your accounts each with different niche. This will handsomely reward you a tidy sum of at least $2K to $2.5K a month.

To increase more income, rope in your family members to help. You can also set up many facebook accounts, which is free. Here is the facebook accounts method :

    1. Create many facebook accounts. Each account put a pretty young girl’s face on it or a handsome man’s picture.

    2. Search for fan page like “Success” or “Golf”, etc… Look for the highest fans in the group.

    3. Make friends with each of them every day with different account but not more than 20 people each day for each account. Facebook will block you if you make more than 20 friends per day. Also, make sure you don’t repeat the same people to invite as friends.

    4. After about a week or 2, check how many friends you have made with all your accounts. Start promoting your shortened link to each of them.

At the end of the month, you will have more than $2K combining both twitter and facebook strategies.

    Cheers!!!!

  55. Ryan Tai says:

There is also another easy way of doing this and that is using PPV or PPC. Pay Per View will be much much cheaper if you are promoting CPA. Pay Per Click is more expensive if you advertise in Google. Anyway, we have $500 to spare. But, all these are paid traffic which will put you to first page of google. Try not to use too competitive keyword as the ad will be too expensive. Bid for 20cts a click will be affordable.

    Cheers!!!

  56. hmm here are two ideas I can think of which I would like to invest some of my time in writing here

    1. go to clickbank spend like 15 mins or more in finding about five products that are converting weary well and are in general something almost anyone would need and then go to facebook and promote them there thorough ppc or whatever other way of promotion they are offering if you don´t see any sales by 48 hours find other products to promote or tweak your promoting method.

2.this is probably a bit unethical way but I´m sure it could make you quite some money in the end sales.
start by going to the local costume store or website that sells cheap jewelry and buy from them some ring´s and necklace´s then go to ebay and go to the metaphysical category and advertise your ring or necklace as a “magical” item,
make sure you do it right by checking out some other “magical” bids,
all you have to do is find a ring or necklace that has high bids on it and copy the sales letter
then make some minor changes to it making it your own, because we all know that copy/paste is the root of all evil 😉
then all you have to do is to put the starting bid to 3 to 5 hundred dollars (maybe less if you´re not confident in this) and wait for the bids to come in.
I think this method should work,
cause it´s amazing what kind of crap ppl who believe in this kind of crap are willing to pay if the offer is “credible”.

also if you don´t have an existing account that has some good rep on ebay then just get some of your friends and family to buy some stuff of you and give you a good report that way you will be able to start whit some good rep which should help you a little bit.

oh and you could also go to facebook and make/find a mystical group where you could put the link to the bid on, and of course you would use any other way you would know to get people who believe in this kind of crap to find your biding offer.

anyways that´s some of the ways I can think of.

oh and if you don´t believe this can work then here is somewhat of a proof here is a link to a haunted ring that has currently one bid for 650,00$-http://cgi.ebay.com/HAUNTED-RING-2-SHAITANS-KING-DJINN-JINN-GENIE-/260722963613?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cb44cb49d

and here is another product which I´m not even sure what is but it´s got like 13 bids on it for 305,00$-http://cgi.ebay.com/PX-OVILUS-SPIRIT-TALK-GHOST-COMMUNICATOR-EXTRAS-/120672806474?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c18a8e64a

ps. pleas do note that I´m not trying to advertise here I do not gain anything by putting those links up here I´m not promoting those products and will gain nothing if you buy them,
the links are only ment as examples of what I am talking about I strongly advise you against buying those products as they are nothing but scams put on the net to make an easy buck so pleas for the love of God do not under any circumstances think that I´m am in any way trying to sell you or any1 other the junk I just linked to.
I especially want to make sure you understand that you should rather flush your money down the toilet than buying one of them.

pps. hope I´we made sure even an idiot could understand that I´m not trying to sell those items.
and Dan I as well hope I do not insult you by linking to that make money online product on my name it is by no means better than your product,
It´s just that as a member you get access to a lot of products to have other affiliates to promote for you
and I believe that it could help some of the ppl here,
be sites it helped me gain some understanding of how some methods work which I think could help some of the ppl here as it has helped me altough it has not made me any $ :/
and I would like to use the opportunity to thank you for the hard work you must have put into making the dead beat super affiliate program for I´m sure it is the program that will finally help me start to make some money online and keep up the good work ;>)

  57. I have no idea how to do it that quickly from scratch.

I am going to find a good product for Newbies that is different from what I normally send to my list.

I will check out the program to make sure it fully covers the beginner.

Write a “I think this program is cool and here is why” email and video–Frank Kern style–even though I am not that cool.

Then I will send it to my email list with three different titles over the next week.

    Rick

I am off to find a great affiliate program to send to my list.

  58. joe says:

This is the question that I started asking at the beginning of the year and have been working on ever since.
The domain was just created for that purpose.
My plan is to create articles for 4 or 5 websites which I created because I have an interest in the topics those websites cover.
These topics are investment, business start up, relationships, and personal development.
Each week my plan is to create 20 articles for each website.
Articles are to be posted on article sites.
Each article is to be directed to a squeeze page with a request to subscribe. Nothing else.
During the week, I will be researching the topics, writing outlines, posting on forums, and checking CPA subscriptions.
Goal is to generate a mailing list of about a 100 or so subscribers per site and then work with those subscribers to build trust and rapport.
Right now, I’m way behind as my article creation leaves a lot to be desired. The articles I’m posting must have a minimum of 500 words, which makes it harder to come up with.
There’s no $500 lump sum to work with but am working on $100 monthly budget to keep this process fun and challenging.
The most challenging on this is to keep going when no results show up even though the common wisdom keeps screaming that you can get a million subscribers without even thinking, some sort of ESP process it’s eluding me, I imagine. But I’m sure I’ll see it advertised soon enough.
This is what I am working on.
    Best wishes to everyone.
    joe

  59. Hey Dan,

No comment about how to make $2,000 in 3-days.

I did, however, want to applaud you for your desire to help others out. Also, great marketing strategy. I don’t think I’ve seen this many comments on one of your posts before. And if you’ve had more comments, don’t be offended. It just means I haven’t been following you long enough.

Good for you (and everyone else).

    Take care,

    Fred

  60. Gary Brown says:

Create a product that you have researched and confirmed is in demand. Create an optin page and sales page, find a successful “guru” in the Warrior Forum and tell them you are interested in a JV partnership which would include giving them 50% of the profits from selling your product.

Price for the product is $67.

As a requirement, the “guru” would need to have a list of responsive subscribers that would be interested in your product and large enough that you could sell about 60 of them.

Then, have the guru invite them to a free webinar where he will interview you about the product. You will give some of the information in the product for free and this must be valuable enough that the participants will feel that they have actually learned something that will benefit them.

At the end of the webinar you can then talk about the product and how it can be obtained letting them know that this product will only be available to 60 of the participants (first come, first serve) and you can throw in a bonus as an enticement. This bonus will be relevant and hopefully unique. Tell them that this bonus is only for those who are the next 60 to purchase.

If there are any left over for sale after the webinar the next day, the guru can email the list and let them know that the recording for this webinar is available for free, send them to the landing page where it will tell them how many of the packages are left and give them a sense of urgency.

I saw this done last week and they sold all but 3 of the packages at the end of the webinar and the rest were available through the landing page.

    60 times $67 is $4020.

Split this with the guru and you have $20 more than what Dan the Internet Man Brock set as the minimum.

  61. Julie says:

Wow – great responses Dan!! Some are pretty elaborate! A lot of people mention “hot niches” but fail to recognize the challenges of competition and longevity with those plans, especially if you are starting from scratch.

There is a balance and it won’t happen in 30 days. You have to get the trust of people, traffic, etc. I know this was a quick how-do-you-get-$2000-month, but I am trying to be more of a long-term strategic thinker! 🙂

I think this is a great post though to get people thinking!!! Enjoying it, so thanks!

@Brad “Problem is it is not so simple to do. If it was I’d spend each month building a new $2,000 per month income! =)” << I agree! 🙂

  62. Kevin says:

Mine is a simple but effective method of taking advantage of all these product launches every week. This is something I’ve never seen taught and discovered on my own . Here’s the breakdown:

Pick a new product launch at least every week, twice a week if possible and do a short newspaper type article. Submit this article to a Google News website. There’s actually a few publishers offering this service for a VERY small fee.

Make the headline have the product name + review and put the product name keywords as tags.

Watch your news story rocket to #1 in Google and get tons of traffic come launch day. I did this for one launch and ended up making 2 sales – $125 from over 100 clicks. Not as much as I hoped for but still worth spending a few minutes on and direct-linking to an affiliate offer.

If someone wrote up a review and linked to that review from your news story with anchor text that could probably get you better conversions and a better search engine ranking on your review page (I mean think about it, the site is in Google News) although I haven’t tested that out personally so can’t guarantee that it does.

This is one method I’ve used to make some money and I think it could be used to make $2000/month but probably not by a complete newbie 😉

  63. Buzz S says:

Buy and ebook or go to Warrior Forum and look for “How to Set up Local Business on Google Local.”

Buy $200-$300 video camera if you do not have one already.

Google some local businesses and check Google results or rankings. Pick some local businesses to target. Anything from heating and cooling to busy hot dog joint it does not matter. As long as they have not claimed their Google Local listing.

Approach local business with plan to make around 5 two or so minute videos this month to upload to YouTube local business account. Make sure to SEO YouTube account for business. Also make them fun and interesting. Try to appeal to business character and style. Impromptu works real good for owner interview or positive customer reviews of business is great too.

Tell them you will build blog and do some SEO on keyphrases for their business for posting. Does not have to be professional just something nice to get started. Upload a few pics of business and contact info. Set up Google Local listing according to ebook parameters. Start to make videos and upload to YouTube or TubeMogul accounts. SEO videos. Link sites together. Add videos to blog as you make them for link juice to channel.

Write free press release to PRlog.com link to blog. Other press sites scrape release and possible Google News listing too.

Go to Yahoo Answers do search for possible questions pertaining to local business search. If none, open up two accounts. One to ask question second one to answer question asked. On answer to question asked post link to YouTube video business videos. All this gives link juice to videos and eventually to blog and local listing. Videos begin to show up in Google results if enough hits to videos. Any searches even once question is closed will come up. Organic Google search may bring up Yahoo results too.

Tell business to advertise YouTube videos at business site and on menus or anything they can. Customers will begin to spread word via email, texting, and social bookmarks. People love to reciprocate if you ask them. Plus FREE is always good!

Blog and videos will show up on local results as there are not many people SEOing for these keyphrases. You could have 5 or so results on first page of Google search for business and start to get authority for site as back links grow.

Charge $400 per account. Only need 5 to make $2K for month. $500 if your area can support it. Then only need 4. Not all profit if you have to buy ebook and video cam but did do $2K in business or more. Budget was $500 any left over take Dan to dinner as “Deadbeats” don’t ever buy you know 🙂

Businesses will tell other friends or do small ads to promote yourself on business listings and your new biz will grow fast. Party on Garth!!

It’s amazing to read through all the ideas.

One way to make a large amount of money in a short time is to find a very high value item to sell. For example, heavy machinery or yachts, because there are spotters fees for high ticket items which can be up to 10% of sale.

Spend your $500 advertising line ads in appropriate magazines. They can be as little as $30 each. See if you can find ezines and advertise there.

Look for forums by using the search engines and post your link. You only need one sale, so you can completely focus your marketing onto buyers of such products

    Best wishes to everyone

  65. Todd says:

Absolutely have the perfect idea for this and it is the EXACT time of the year to do this. I know this works, because I have done it.

I am not sure if this is completely to your rules but I will tell you anyway, and this can be used with ALMOST any offer.

    1. Find a good CPA offer that relates to New Years resolutions. You can do other offers, but New Years resolutions are hot right now.

    2. Good offers right now would be anything to do with GETTING FIT, LOSING WEIGHT, QUIT SMOKING (or electronic cig), stuff like that.

    3. Buy a domain name, an INFO domain name for about a buck.

    4. Make sure you talk to your CPA account manager and let them know what you are doing and get it approved.

    5. Redirect the info. domain to your CPA landing page.

    6. Make a flyer, simple not fancy, and make it short and sweet. Something like this “It’s time to make your New Years Resolutions Come True!” Want to stop smoking? Want to lose weight? Want to get into the best shape of your life?

“See if you quality for a FREE NO RISK TRIAL offer”

Then put your domain name below.

You could even have three or four different domain names on one flyer. One for electronic cig, one for weight loss, one for getting into shape, one for whatever fits.

    7. You then print up at least 500 flyers, will cost you about $40 or so to do that.

    8. You then find someone to pass out the flyers for about .10 apiece to the neighborhoods you want them passed out to.

That would cost you about $50. So far you have about $91 invested.

You need to pass these flyers out to middle to lower income level people as far as the electronic cig. deal. It has been shown those income levels smoke more. So of course you want to give yourself the best chance to get a higher conversion rate.

As far as the other offers, you could probably pass them out in any income level area, but I prefer to stick to the lower to middle income level areas because the FREE offers for a month seem to work well.

    9. All of this can be set up in one to two days. It really is simple. Then you check the response rate, you can do a lot of testing and see which offers do better in what areas.

    10. Once you find the offer that seems to convert better, or much better than the others, then really go after that offer with a flyer made ONLY for that offer.

    11. These flyers do NOT need to be fancy at all. NO graphics, nothing like that. Just a large text, a big call to action and that is it.

You might be surprised at how well this works. Some of these offers pay over $40 per sale, you only need to make 50 sales to make the $2000.

If you pass out 1000 flyers and get a 5% conversion rate, you have made your $2000. If you pass out 2000 flyers and only get a 2.5% conversion rate you have made your $2000.

What is nice about this is that the first 500 flyers are a test, to see what converts and what doesn’t. You can then take the money you made on the first 500 (and you will make money) and use it to scale it up.

It works, I do it!! I got the idea from doing this during the holidays. I had a site based around a very popular Christmas toy. It was number three on the first page of Google until Thanksgiving night. Then I got sandboxed.

My rankings dropped from third on the first page of Google to below the top 50 pages. This literally cost me thousands of dollars just for December.

So out of frustration I made some flyers that said: Looking for XXXXXXXX XXXXX XXXXXXXXXX XXXXXX? If you cannot find this HOT Christmas toy in our local stores, WE HAVE IT HERE:

Then I put the website name. We made a very good number of sales doing it this way. which gave me the idea for offline marketing of online offers. It works you guys and gals. It really does and it does NOT cost much and you can be up and running FAST! Like it one day.

You can market any product this way. But there has to be a bit of a sense of urgency when doing things around the holiday season.

For CPA offers it works well. Getting accepted to CPA networks is EASY….a piece of cake. Just make sure they allow this type of offline marketing. Everyone that I am with does allow this.

So that is how I am and would make $2000 in a month, and if you really scaled it up you could make MUCH MUCH more.

The ONLY thing technical at ALL is the redirection and I believe anyone could figure out how to do this in about five minutes. If you can’t go to YouTube and there are plenty of videos there that show you how. It really is simple.

Good luck to you all…try it…it works. By the way, these flyers should be passed out door to door. NO putting then on cars at malls or places like that. Everywhere I have lived that breaks the law and you can receive a pretty hefty fine…plus really tick people off.

  66. Graham says:

    Hi Dan
I don’t leave comments very often, and was going to pass on this one, but this has bugged me all night, it’s now 3.20 am GMT.

I don’t want to P*ss on anyone’s matches, but I agree with Brad above, I believe this to be an impossible task for a newbie even if they work 720 hours, unless they get lucky.

Any kind of PPC in my opinion is too risky unless you know what you are doing (or you can afford to lose a lot of money, and most of us cannot)even at $16.6 a day.

Someone already did the maths on traffic, I have worked 1440 hours in three months for 53 web pages and 1800 uniques, total so far $10, having said that I haven’t done too much promotion yet, about 40 articles and 100 or so links. The money stats do not worry me as this was always going to be a long term authority site, I just wanted some solid stuff there in one go to start, it’s a hot niche supposedly but so far it seems to be full of ‘tyre kickers’, but even with that kind of effort I am absolutely nowhere near the figures required.

I am not a pessimist and I hope someone proves me wrong, I really do, and very good luck to them, they will have earned it.

  67. Todd says:

Well I can tell you with certainty the way I proposed to make the $2000 is very real, even for a newbie. All you have to know how to do is redirect and get approved by a CPA network…and that is EASY as can be.

I can also say that if you are only making $10 after 1800 uniques then something is wrong…really wrong. You are targetting non buying traffic or your pages not set up to convert properly.

I have a site http://hdtvreviewer.com that I have BARELY worked on…done almost no promotion and it has days when it makes a $100 or more. God, I could sell you that site and all you would have to do is start backlinking.

The other day JUST ONE of the sales led to a $100 commission. This site has been a total after thought for me.

Not to be a jerk…but the main thing is to get content up that is going to attract buyers….then backlink the heck out of it AFTER you make sure on page SEO is done right.

Ninety percent of your effort should be made in back linking your pages. It makes a HUGE differnce.

And finally, I hope some of you do what I described in my other post…try the offline of online properties. Follow what I said, it will work.

If I have any Idea or the formula to go from $0 to $2000 in 30 days, I would create my own product launch and for sure I will be making $2000 in just few hours, but I don’t have the formula.

But I have an idea for anybody who want to accomplish that without creating his own product launch:
Take advantage of somebody Else’s launch.

I will wait for a hot product launch, get my affiliate link before the launch go public, search for a keyword domain”have to be a keyword domain”, build a simple blog, optimize my blog by following infoproductkiller exact formula, offer a hot bonus to anybody who buy from my link, I am sure you will be making $2000 in 30 days like piece of cake.

I am not promoting any product here, neither have any relation with the creator of “infoproductkiller”,I just happen to find the content would be very helpful to achieve the $2000 goal in 30 days.

If someone had a gun to my head and I needed to raise two grand this is how I would do it. Both of my children have Facebook accounts with at least two or three hundred friends. I would tell my kids I have a friend who has a dog that needs a very serious operation that will cost him two thousand dollars. Would they ask their friends and their friends to each send a dollar to help my friends dog have the operation. To show his apperication my friend has given me a new 35″ flat screen to give to some random donor, and my kids can’t win. So I then set up a account to recieve the money and then buy and send the tv with the five hundred. This whole project should take a couple of days.

Hmm…. $2,000 in 30 days? How about $5,000 in that same time frame for a better challenge? Come on Dan $2,000 is child’s play in a month.

    Technique Cost to Implement- $0-$20{Free unless u want to count time and a website plus hosting account for quicker and better results 🙂 }

What you will do is find a niche that you want to sell to. For example here I will use dog training.(I know its a highly competitive market, but its plenty for everyone to grab a slice.)

the thing about this idea, is that it doesn’t matter how competitive your niche is, as long as you get targeted traffic to your site, you’re gonna have good conversions. That being said, on to the method.

First I would find around 30 keywords on google adwords free tool for local monthly searches of roughly 1,000 or more, and competition of 50,000 or less on google search. This will make domination easy for top pages and you will make a killing once you get indexed for them. Pick one of your more popular keywords and make it your free site, or WordPress site. This should rank almost immediately after being indexed for that term.

Now here is the easy road. Find either free or cheap related PLR’s to dog training (Around 100 is excellent) and use 1 article per keyword(tie it in if you can with the article) and make sure to rewrite the PLR completely! there are plenty of good article rewriting software to use and most can even be found free!

Afterwards write all 30 articles(With the right tool this could take a day) and set them to submit on your site once per day. This can be done by setting the post date to a future time so you wont have to worry about it for the next 29-30 days.

After submitting articles, submit another version of the article to sites like ezine, goarticles, buzzle, squidoo, hubpages, etc. Make sure to point back to your site with this and submit to as many as possible to see some decent traffic almost immediately.

Now here is the gold. You are going to set up 5 pages on your site. 1 will be for your blog (duh lol) for the 30 posts. 1 will be for a about/bio page on either you or a pen name. 1 page will be to host a particular dog training product, either Clickbank or any other affiliate program.

Think the clickbank pages are gold? Here is the clincher that will set you off. 1 page will be used to offer free downloads of products you make from the PLR’s. Make about 5 products each holding 5 PLR’s apiece bundled together(This should leave you with about 45 if I did my math right.)

You can find resources available for free to make ebook covers pretty easily, and just proofread, and convert the articles into pdf format to see results with this, also free.

Next for the final page you will use the best of your remaining 45 articles to make a 25 page guide (Probably around 20 of the PLR’s) to sell as your own product. This will make 2 income streams, and your downloads page will bring many happy returning visitors. You can use the same method in the last section you find to make the designs.

The key here is to provide good content for the free downloads section, so that they will almost feel like they have no choice but to buy your product or the affiliate product(If you’re lucky you mite get both.) You want to range your product from $10-$30

Now lets do the math here to see how it’s holding up.

30 Keywords for 1,000 minimum monthly searches per month makes 30,000 total.

You’re probably only gonna get 10% of that so you really are sitting at 3,000 traffic per month.

Now out of that 3,000, with good enough content you can safely say 10% will convert, making 300 sales.

Now here’s the fun part.. The earnings numbers to this.

Your product alone at $10 x 300= $3,000 Paypal beating out the initial goal 50%.

    Your product at $20 x 300= $6,000 Paypal (200% goal smasher!)

    Your product at $30 x 300= $9,000 Paypal (Almost 5 figures!)

Now some of you might be saying 300 sales is difficult. Hmm, well lets make it even more believable.

Lets say you could somehow get 100 sales in a month for your product at $30. ($3,000) Still beats out your initial goal and is much easier to believe. Need I mention I havent introduced the affiliate program yet.

And imagine if you followed this same plan for 2 sites? or 3? how about 5? At about $30 per site($150) You still have $350 to outsource the entire project. So I would say its pretty impossible not to make that $2,000 in a month with this, and actually make a heck of a lot more in the process in the first month 🙂

I know I might get a lot of people saying why would he post this kind of info free, well it’s because its my own unique strategy in its most basic format.

I left out plenty of details of my finished plan that works much faster and easier than this, and think im lying about that and realize I haven’t mentioned promotion not once. Nor did I mention building linkwheels, proper SEO, Press Releases, and other methods of more exposure.

So again this is child’s play Dan 🙂 and I wouldn’t mind talking to you about some more complicated stuff, after of course I get 1st place prize lol. ( it wasn’t against the rules to bribe, I checked 3 times.)

    N.B.B.

    B. Hunter

  73. brandon hunter says:

O yea hate to double post, but is it possible to win 1st and 2nd place by adding another strategy? If so im filled with ideas.

And reading comments above that said it’s impossible for a beginner to make $2,000 a month. Tell them to read my tip. The only thing they need to learn how to do is write an article correctly( learn from an expert- hint hint) and learn basic Keyword Research Knowledge easily found, or just outsource the plan to someone that knows what they’re doing.

Honestly with that mindset it’ll take forever to bring in some decent cash flow, and IM isn’t even my master craft and I come up with stuff like this daily while im playing video games.

Not trying to sound arrogant, im just have a bad habit of trying to be a perfectionalist,(if thats a word) and confident in my abilities.

O yea and by the way, im 19 and a college drop out, although im considering going back unless I get too famous b4 then so where is my excuse?

  75. Pete Moring says:

OK, here’s my little contribution Dan. Love the course by the way 🙂

Buy a product in ample supply but vary cheap e.g; from the pound shop/Dollar store that is popular on Ebay or similar site and mark up at 100% (excluding shipping). There are always people in outlying communities/districts who don’t get to those shops but who DO buy online from Ebay etc for what seems like a bargain at the time.
You could just list one each of say ten trial items to see which one sells best.

You list them for 1 day only and see how they go. Promote on Twitter with the #Ebay hashtag – always gets good viewings.

When you’ve found your most popular item/s, list one or more each day doubling the listing numbers or more as you see fit.

Using the concept of geometric progression you should see a very good return on investment like so –

    · 1st day you list one making double = $2
    · 2nd day you list 2 = $4
    · 3rd day you list 4 = $8
    · 4th day you list 8 = $16
    · 5th day you list 16 = $32 etc, etc, etc,

As you can see, it doesn’t take long for $1 to multiply up. I’ll let you continue doubling up to see how much you ‘could’ earn in 30 days 🙂

    Good luck, Pete.

    Hi Tod,
Super content, man and I looked at your website: well done!
I like your idea about promoting off-line online CPA offers.
Can you tell more how to be accepted by a CPA Network and which CPA Networks will accept a newbie? Waiting to hear from you! Cheers.

  78. Dear Dan –

What a great idea – Very fun reading at 3:00 in the morning!

Here are a couple of ideas that I don’t think were suggested –

1- Go to Google Trends, Google Insight, Yahoo Answers,Oprah, Dr. Phil etc., and see what people are talking about, asking about. Drill down on that big problem until you have a micro-niche (ex: maybe Oprah and Dr. Phil are interviewing the people from the new reality show, “Heavy” – I’m making this up, btw – Obesity is a BIG subject – try to drill down on it and come up with a number of niches under “obesity” – ie: diets, exercise, health, self-help, clothes…Drill down on these until you have a micro-niche – diets = Dr. Atkins, South Beach, etc. Exercise = free weights, aerobics, treadmills, pedometers, etc. Self-help = motivational books, self-help books, audio books, self-hypnosis, etc….Drill down until you have micro-niches

2- Go to Amazon and look for products that address the question/concern/problems you found from your research in #1 above.

3- When you’ve found a number of Amazon products, copy the websites of the suppliers. In Google Keyword Tool, put the websites in the website box – NOT the keyword box. This will return a list of the main keywords used by those sites.

4- You want long tail keywords because if you’ve found this problem in Trends, Oprah, etc., you will have a lot of competition for the short tail keywords

5- Go to GoDaddy or wherever you buy your domains, and try to find a domain with your keywords. Buy it and have it hosted.

6- Go back to Amazon and apply for an Amazon Webstore

7- Set up your Amazon webstore with your micro-niche-relevant products. If we were spinning this after the reality show, “Heavy” for instance, your micro-niche products might include self-help-books, hypnosis CD’s, free weights, pedometers, treadmills, scales, exercise dvds, etc.

8- Understand that an Amazon webstore offers you the ability to set up a free store to sell Amazon products on (you don’t have to have your own products), BUT, this means that you will only earn an associate’s commission on them, so you will need a number of high-ticket items.

On the other hand, one of the main benefits of an Amazon webstore is that Amazon takes care of all the transactions – you don’t need a merchant account, to warehouse products, to ship products, to handle returns….very clean and easy)

9- Press release your store, send articles to Google News (someone mentioned that above – great idea 😉 ), write articles about the store, about the TV show, all the free marketing you can do.

10- Set up a Hub Pages and/or Squidoo Lens and backlink to the store.

    11- Build backlinks like crazy.

OK, that is the FREE way to set up an online micro-niche business. Keep working it and it will make you money.

The second way is a bit more involved but promises BETTER returns a lot quicker. A newbie can do it, but it has a learning curve (not a big one, just one you should really study in order to avoid mistakes).

1- Find a micro-niche (I use Blueprint Project Black Edition – amazing). If you don’t have BPBE, you can use Market Samurai, another program, or just do your research – you CAN drill down on a micro-niche without it.

2- Find your keywords, using the techniques in sample #1.

3- Set up an online store (not an Amazon store). I use Python, but you can use another store software setup. Just make sure it allows you to take credit card orders (Note, you will want to make your store secure with an SSL – makes your site an https: rather than an unsecure http:)

4- Go online and research drop ship service providers. These are go-between services between merchants (you) and manufacturers (a lot less of a hassle than researching individual manufacturers for all the different products in your micro-niche).

5- Find products that relate to your micro-niche that can be drop-shipped.

6- Set up your online store with the products you have resourced. Most retailers keystone the prices – meaning, they double it. So, if you can buy a treadmill for $500 at wholesale price, you can sell it for $1,000 at retail (make sure you take into account any transaction fees, taxes, etc). Remember to add shipping charges (which you can get from the manufacturer – either a flat fee or a by-weight/size fee. I just duplicate whatever the manufacturer offers).

7- Once your micro-niche store is set up with no more than 50 products (you don’t want to turn this into a headache by having too many products) market the heck out of it through press releases, Google News, shopping portals, articles, hubpages, lenses, an accompanying blog, etc.

Owning an online store can be hugely profitable, but I really recommend micro-niche sites because you can really target your keywords.

Just a couple of notes – obviously, do your own due diligence on owning a store (whether you should make it a corporation, how to do it, etc). Before setting up your store (while still doing your research), make sure your keywords are actionable. That means, when using a keyword research tool, choose “exact match” instead of “broad match.” Someone looking for “exercise equipment” is a looker. Someone looking for: “Proform Shox XT 70 Treadmill/Incline Trainer PFTL05099” is more likely to be a buyer.

    Anyway, I hope this helps!

    Best to all,

    Kaete

  79. Not really sure that i can top “Don Dolenec” suggestion, but seeing as I am only new to online marketing and the Deadbeat Super Affiliate system is really the only one i’ve ever purchased online that was worth well more than what I was required to pay for it.

Not too sure if i could make $2000 if a month straight up from this as I still haven’t passed that after 2 months using the SDA system, however I just got my first google page one for one my single product review sites.

    Cheers
    DAMIAN

  80. OK, Dan, et al, now I can’t stop thinking about this and came up with another idea that should be an easy set up.

Choose a niche and set up a directory. For instance, you could set up a directory of dentists, or hair stylists, or cafes. Think outside of the box. Pottery studios, wedding photographers, music studios, coop artist studios, dance shoe outlets, costume designers, whatever floats your boat.

You can make your directory locale-specific (ex: dentists in Chicago), or take it national/international. Again, your choice.

Buy a keyword-related domain name and host it somewhere.

Buy the directory software. My recommendation is to buy one that allows “members” to set up their own pages.

Get one that links to Google Maps (you can tie into the idea somewhere above, then, to offer Google Places listing services -this is an offshoot of the directory, though)

Research all the dentists/potters/dance shoe retail shops/whatever your niche is and list them, by town, city, state on your directory. Just name of business, address and phone number. This is your “give.”

Once you have it set up, contact each dentist/potter, etc. and sell them on an ad on one of your public pages.

Offer them the opportunity to have their own page on the directory where they can upload photos, lists of services, their bio, credentials, contact info, etc. This is their own page and they can modify it as needed. Charge $19 per month (or whatever amount you can get away with)

You could include Adsense on the site – which might not be a bad idea as this site should easily grow into the hundreds, if not thousands, of pages. Just make sure having Adsense does not conflict with the member pages – ie, you wouldn’t want Dentist A to buy your monthly page to advertise his services, only to have a competing Adsense ad on his page. Maybe you could find a similar, but non-competing, service/product for your Adsense? Just brainstorming here…;)

OK, that’s it for ideas this morning – time to go put them into action.

    Best to all!

    -Kaete

Well you asked what I would do and the answer is provide a solution to a problem that a visitor to my site has.

Something that I’ve only learned in the last few days and its this.

No software, backlinks, PPC, CPA, Adwords, Copy/Paste or anything that can be sold to us will help, It cannot be given to us either.

The solution is totally unique and its CONTENT because if you have no CONTENT, you have nothing!

When you get this one fact you can have everything, the nature of good content brings your page to life and the search engines will find it, people will backlink to you.

The fact is this every single solution we try to find to be succesful is content plain and simple learn it grasp it and your world be a much fuller place.

As marketers we owe it to our visitors to try and create a better experience and if we all do it, the web will be a better place.

Sure its competitive, but thats the nature of the beast, we sell stuff, we should be professional about it.

No salesman ever made it to the top using software to make his pitch or by stealing someone elses script.

They made it by being unique and caring about what they do, they listened to their client and gave the correct answer.

The content they wanted that solved their need.

We know this stuff, we just find it hard to comprehend that it could be such a simple answer.

I own a ton of shit on the internet some that earn a little some that do not bad, but nothing was really doing it for me.

I’ve been around online for over 2 years and have learnt tons from experience sadly that includes getting ripped of by so called Gurus not that it really matters because it was all BS just as every single thing that is promoted to you is.

Write good content with a solution to a problem and you will get results.

Not new, you heard it the first time you set about making money online, everyone said to make money online you need to create your own product and that product needs content.

So when you enter this challenge if you do, make that the forefront of your thoughts.

I have started to make a reasonable amount but not with copy/paste clicking a button but feverishly typing on the keyboard creating content.

Good content, who knows but the more unique I get the more things start happening for me.

Be passionate about what you do, do it with feeling and belief.

Give it a try, forget everything else just do it!

Good things will happen, I promise

I will not be able to add to your contest as I am still a newby floundering around seeking my fortune. However the one think this contest has done is given me some more detailed basic direction about how to get started. Thank you for the course and this contest. I appreciate all of the ideas.

  84. Mike says:

2000 in 30 days. Well, if I’m not able to sell products I own then I would do this thru affliate marketing. I’d choose ten products(5 from clickbank and 5 from amazon). I’d create wordpress blogs for each product. I’d get those blogs indexed in google, yahoo, msn, an bing. Then I’d find 20 buying keywords for each product. Then I’d find out the page rank, keywords, an number of backlicks the top ten listed websites under those keywords had. Then, I’d document an reuse as many backlinks as possible that those top ranked sites were using. Then I’d create my own backlinks. I’d go on fiverr an buy a good 30 plus video reviews for 5 bucks. I’d buy a 30 dollar cpu mic, get a free screen recording software, an create 70 plus power point presentations. Then, I’d get 100 plr articles related to each product, then download a free article spinning software to spin each article ten times giving me a Thousand articles for each product then i’d convert ever article to video. then I’d take thousand 1000 video articles, 30+ video reviews, an 70+ power point presentations an manuallu submit tthem to youtube an a video marketing website like tube mogul. Then, I’d download a free article submitting software an I’d submit those 1000 articles, then I’d spin them all once more an submit them to all the major article syndication networks like seo link vine. Then I’d submit the wp blogs to numerous directories. And, I’d rinse an repeat this cycle for 16 hours a day everyday until I had more backlinks, an was outranking/positioning the tp websites for those keywords. which at a pace of 16 hrs a day will take a good 7 days to setup an a good 7 days to climb to the top of google. Then over the next 14 days I’d continue creating more backlinks while watching affiliate accounts rack up well OVER! $2000 dollars before I’d reached 30 days.

  85. Thanks for this great idea Dan! I’ve been picking up grat tips from others, and wanted to share some stuff I gleaned over the past few years. If I were to start from scratch and had $500 to invest, this is the plan I would follow to get $2000/month (Google terms to find sources). This approach is a bit labor-intensive up front, but it works like a charm. CPM is only profitable, however, with a RELEVANT offer that converts well; otherwise, you will lose money.

Step 1: Determine the market/niche you want to sell – preferrably one you have a passion for. Open up Clickbank and Amazon accounts and find a market that features several quality products (based on research of reviews and forums).

Step 2: Choose the products with the best reviews and create hoplinks for each one.

Step 3: Do some keyword research to find 5-6 good keywords and phrases with high traffic and high commercial intent (use Google kyeword tools).

Step 4: Based on your KW selection, purchase a domain ($10) and set up Hostgator and Aweber acounts ($30).

Step 5: Search the web for 2 high-quality PLR products (no junk) related to your market or niche that you can buy for less than $20 each to give away or sell cheap.

Step 6: Use Dreamweaver ($$) or download Kompozer (free) to create a high-converting headline/squeeze page with an Opt-in Box “above the fold” next to the picture of your main PLR product. List main benefits below the fold. Test.

Step 7: Using Kompozer, create a One-time Offer (OTO) Page and 2 Download Pages. Upload pages and test features. On all pages, be sure you comply with Google’s newest policies and have a full disclaimer visible at the bottom, along with your name, address, phone number, and links to other pages, like spam policy, about us, terms, etc.

Step 8: On the main download page, link to download the main PLR product. On the second download page, link to download both PLR products. For the OTO page, tell the customer they can get the second PLR product for only a nominal fee, say $1-5, and have a bypass link for those who don’t want it.

Step 9: Set up a PayPal merchant account (free).

Step 10: Set up separate AWeber lists for buyers of each product. Name them so that you will know where the names came from, i.e., Product1, Product2, etc.

Step 11: Create a Buy Now button for 2nd PLR product, at a nominal fee ($3-5). Forward buyer (the sale) to the download page for both products.

Step 12: Open up Google accounts for both Gmail, Adwords, and Analytics. Install Analytics codes on all pages to measure traffic and conversions.

Step 13: Set up Aweber autoresponse series to send them content and RELEVANT Clickbank offers – 3-1 content to offers every other day.

Step 14: Create Adwords campaign to test KWs. Run a 2-day test and choose best ones. If the conversion is too low (less than 15-18%), redo the squeeze page and test until you are getting decent conversions.

Step 15: Download free software: Doubleclick AdPlanner and Adwords Digger. Purchase Placement Intelligence software ($77).

Step 16: Create CPM campaign (NOT CPC) on AdWords. Use above software to target highest traffic sites to advertise on and set up both text and image ads (in separate campaigns).

Step 17: Run ad campaign(s) and monitor Analytics, i.e., hits and conversions. Once you have a winner, bid high to get more traffic.

Step 18: After list is built to 300-500, do list swapping to build list faster.

Step 19: Keep testing to improve conversions. By using your own list, you should be able to earn $2K within the prescribed time. Using the OTO alone, with 500 hits per day and 4% conversion, you will earn $160/day, or $2400. Assuming you only earn half that, you pick up the rest from relevant affiliate products! 🙂

    Step 20: Rinse and repeat.

  86. Use the $500 to buy antiques and collectibles at auctions and resell them on Ebay or Craigslist.

  88. **** ATTENTION – SECRET REVEALED ***

    **** DONT SKIP THIS ******

    ****** FREEDOM AWAITS YOU *********

Ok this is not my area of expertise but here goes..

Find 100 local businesses that either do not have a website or who’s website does not rank for a local search term.
    Use google search.

Find keywords – use google adwords keyword tool
    ie
    Lakeland dental care
    lakeland orthodontist
    lakeland dental surgery
    lakeland emergency dentist

Doesn’t have to be “local” to you.
    Doesn’t have to be dentist.
    Not too much competition.

Buy 10 domain names with exact match .com .net .org
    $80
    Install on existing hosting
    $1
Trial at hostgator if you dont have this already.
Install wordpress on each, free theme.

    Install plugins –

Order 60 keyword rich, targeted unique articles from Fiver.
    $300

Put 3 articles on each site, ping and bookmark.
    Use onlywire free version.
    Use pingoat.com free
Publish one article at a time.
Submit to directories to speed up.
    (Free tools on google)

Set up a Hub page, blogger blog and a squidoo lens/wetpaint. Put one of the remaining articles on each, link to main wordpress site with anchor text and one way to the other 2.0 sites.
    Bookmark and ping.

Use the remaining $100 to buy backlinks where ever they are needed, some sites will rank easier than others.

Now while you are waiting for these sites to rank, 3 to 4 days email all of the above mentioned business and offer to lease them a site for $250 / month up front.
The objective is to find 10 businesses $2500 – $500 setup
    $2000 profit.

Once they agree, customize the site for the business and claim their Google business listing.

What you do after the 1st month is up to you.
    Offer seo services.
    Update services etc.

Its not too much work and you could scale up to a full time business if you want.

About 10days I “killed” to doing research for
    something valuable/inspiring/motivating for
myself — from a public domain+downloadable for free.

Now I have pre-remixed the paragraphs from five of those books into presentation for a webinar and/or seminar à la crazy sauce of songifyied video-decoupages, txt and drawings…– heck, am now really more desperate to find a free scanner for my drawings…– just because i absolutely want see ’em into this presentation…even it sounds like silly goose, i still want it…sorry…no problem, am very flexible, i will find such a way…

    WHY i need it all?
Just because I absolutely want to buy for me a last Dan Kennedy’s program! Unfortunately am belated for a nice discount…:-(
    Who cares? Nobody.
Because I want my stolen home&business&reputation back.
Because it’s my personal “vengeance” for my ex-partner.

  91. Tom Davison says:

    Hi, Dan

I have your DBSA course awesome!

Now then, how would I go about making 2 grand in one month?

First I would do some research on what people already want by keywords, forums and yahoo answers, find products cpa, physical and digital to fit the ninche with good site traffic, gravity, commission and with a great sales page.
Next do some keyword research and compile a keyword list with good search volume and some, lets say 9-10 keywords with fairly low search its important that the competing page volume is no higher than 60,000 in google.
Now I will get a domain name based on the broad keyword for that ninche and a hosting plan with a cpanel. now set up a word press blog with the appropriate theme and plug ins to set up subs, content and api feeds for physical products and similar clickbank products.
Create the subs with all the keywords except the low search keywords we will need then for another process. Now write some articles or get some done up or get some plr content you can spin them to make enough for the submissions but where going to save the original ones are for ezinearticles.
Get some landing pages done up for a newsletter and a free product, get a auto responder account set it up with a landing page sequence and a email sequence with links in sig pointing to your offer and blog.
Submit original articles to ezinearticles first, with the different keywords and contextual links going back to your main site and subs for the home page and other pages. When them go thru then you can spin them and submit them to other ezines.
Now find some forums that are relevant to your ninche and submit some helpful and useful info to the threads with your link to the landing page you set up in the auto responder for the product and some with the link to some articles in your blog that’s where your physical products are. DO NOT SPAM THAT IS NOTHING BUT TROUBLE and did I say DO NOT SPAM THAT’S TROUBLE.
Now I will do up some blog posts for the 9-10 low search keywords and submit them to some blogs with each keyword in the title, body and bio or ref box creating a link wheel.
And just for good measure I will do a few classified ads. Now repeat the process…
This is just a rough outline.

  92. susan says:

I haven’t bought Dan’s program but I have studied his pdf’s on The Google Proof Product Review Formula and his one on Amazon.

I purchased a new domain earlier today followed his steps and wrote my first product review. I posted the review at 8:16 tonight and just checked to see if it had been indexed yet.

It was indexed and I am on page 2 of Google for 1 of my keywords.

If anyone is on the fence about Dan’s product or methods I say go for it. I am telling you that just off the two free pdf’s Dan has given out I see RESULTS in HOURS, just imagine what will happen in a few days once I start backlinking etc…

I have dabbled in affiliate marketing for awhile now of course doing clickbank (digital products), I have a little success.

I actually do local search engine optimization for small business owners so I am not new to the internet marketing but I am new to doing review sites.

So to answer the big question of how I would make $2000.00 in 30 days I would say take the two pdf’s that Dan gives away. Study them then apply the methods.

I also want to point out I don’t know Dan and just heard of him yesterday, I am not being paid and I am not an affiliate of his product. I am just a true believer now that I have tested out his free stuff and see results. Like I said before I have dabbled with affiliate marketing with little success.

I say what I have done in just hours is by far a greater success than I have seen in longer amounts of time spent/money wasted on guru products.

    Thanks Dan you rock!

  93. Alan McD says:

I was going to suggest the local marketing angle but Jonathan has beaten me to it. I have been doing various affiliate programs for the last 18 months while learning a ton but not having to much success.

Local ranking is so much easier. I sometimes get the #1 spot by only having the keyword as the domain and a blank site (while waiting for client content).

I have 5 clients now and have not asked any of them for business, they all knew what I have been doing and have asked me to do it for them.

I don’t charge much (just ask my wife) for what I do, but a couple of them are sending me a few new clients that I will be charging at least $1,500 to start and $500 to maintain.

I always include custom YouTube channels, video distribution, Google places listing and citations, list building, and what ever else makes sense for their business.

An easy one for high end salons and hairdressers is to get an account at Trumpia.com for unified messaging services for the client but control it for them so they don’t see how cheap it is (until you can afford their white label service). Then get their client list and have the stylist call you to send out a text to their clients when they have a cancellation that frees up a couple hours for them or when they just want to send a coupon for a regularly slow day.

I have been so busy with business owners I know asking me to help them that I haven’t had time to build more than the front page of my local biz site (ncmmarketing.com)

One or two ore clients and I will have the bills covered and stop taking more so I can concentrate on finishing up the new Dead Beat site I am setting up. Then outsourcing the work is next.

    Good luck!

  95. This is a plan which I actually plan to implement next month or so once I finish my talks with an Orphanage located in my area.

    On to my plan.

I have an Orphanage near my home. About half an hour distance since it is in the inskirts.

Selling for the Orphanage (Social Cause) Any form of donations are difficult to come by and by just lending the name if they can generate a certain amount of funds, they would be more than glad:- I will use their name to sell products online and pay them a 50% margin from my profits in return for using their name. I will use their name with permission of course.

Sourcing from Rural Artists (Social Cause) As that is a major form of income for them:- There are special Indian Art gifts (Warli Art) and making these gifts are people who live in rural parts of Maharashtra (Indian State) and I happen to know these artists personally. They are the ones who have secured the Indian Warli Art for generations and now it is in. I will source articles from these artists. Gift articles include, mobile holders, pen stands, jewellery boxes and many many more articles.

The Buyers (Social Cause) the positioning will be such that whatever they buy from us, 50% profits will go to an Orphanage:- The buyers will also be doing a Social Cause as they are aware that they are doing good.

    Method 1:-

Finding the buyers:- I have about 250 odd friends together on Orkut/Facebook & Gmail. I will prepare a mailer to be sent to them. The mailer will have the following:-

    1. Image of me with the kids of the Orphanage
    2. Image of me with Warli Artists & their gift articles
    3. Headline – Prosperity, Peace & Nobility
    4. Body Copy – Buy Indian Art Gifts and do your part in supporting an Orphanage with 50 kids
    5. Closing Copy – 50% of all the profits will be donated to “Bal Vidya”. Do your part today.

Selling Tools:- Interview Video on youtube with me and the Dean, Group on Facebook / Google Groups / Orkut with invitations to all 200 friends, Interviews of children at the Orphanage, the artists who make the articles and their lifestyle.

Will send the mailer and links to all the videos and PDF’s to 200 of my friends with a personal request to buy at least three products in the range of Rs.300/- each (US$7 for calculation purposes).

These are friends from school, college and closely knit and hence I assume that I will have at least 10 friends placing an order for two articles each.

I buy the products after I receive the orders and hence no inventory is involved so no expenses initially. I design my own mailer and send the mails myself (I work with an Ad Agency so I can design stuff moderately well).

Calculations for First Time First 15 days:- 20 friends x 2 qty. per friend x US$7 each = US$280 (Gross Profit US$140) on sharing with the Orphanage my profit is US$70 without advertising.

    Calculations for Second Time Next 15 days:- 20 friends x 2 qty. per friend x US$7 each = US$280 (Gross Profit US$140)

On sharing with the Orphanage my profit is US$70.

    Total Revenue – US$560, Gross Profit – US$280, Net Profit – US$140

Next on target would be to list up the same 10 items on e-bay.in (Only India)

Expenses:- Subtitle fees Rs.20/- for 20 products, No

Listing Fees, Bold & other fees Rs.60/- for 20 Products

Total Expenses:- Rs.80/- (US$2) (Please take note that no inventory as products are readily available so no need to keep stock. Can buy once receive orders).

    Method 2:-

To sell on E-Bay.in:- The first 10 buyers were friends, hence they bought at my face value, but these are not known to me and hence to spice it up, I will add customization to my Products, such as painting of the name, surname etc. to get more orders. (Please note that here also I will use the name of the Orphanage to sell the Products as well as use the first mailer with me, the Dean and the Artists).
Tools to Promote Products on Ebay.in:- To promote the Products on ebay.in, I will write a blog about Warli Art, Philanthropy of giving to an Orphanage via buying Gift Articles for friends and families and such articles and will use the following to get free traffic to my ebay.in page of Products:-

    1. SEO Pressor (For rankings on the first page of Google) &

    2. Article Marketing Robot (For submission of the my blogs to various search engines)

    First Major expenses:-
    1. SEO Pressor of US$97
    2. Advertising Credits of US$ 30
    Total – US$127

(I have not used any of the above but I guess you have to trust someone besides the fact that both offer a Money Back Guarantee in case they don’t work).

With the help of the above two tools will start listing my articles and my blog on the front pages of google thus driving traffic to my ebay.in page and ultimately sales. Will do the listing for the entire month and continue writing blogs and articles and marketing with the help of the two tools.

    Calculations for the entire month

    20 Products Listed
    Sales:- 20 Products x 10 Products per month x Rs.300/- per product – Rs.60,000/- (US$ 1,500)

    Total Revenue:- US$ 1,500, Gross Profit:- US$ 750: Nett Profit:- US$ 375

    Method 3rd:-

To sell on Amazon.com:- Amazon has a lot of fees to sell on amazon.com, however it gives exposure to worldwide audience and hence to generate US$ 2,000 in one month, amazon.com is a necessity and not merely just another online Portal. While selling on amazon.com, I will have to pay a fairly good listing fee of US$ 0.99, Final Closing Fee 8% and referral fee 15% and hence my cost of selling on amazon.com will be US$ 10 + Shipping fee instead of US$ 7 + Shipping fee as in case of ebay.in

Tools to Promote Products on Amazon.com:- To promote the Products on amazon.com, I will follow the same rules as on ebay.in to sell my products i.e. SEO Pressor and Article Marketing Robot. Here I stand to get more sales and hence will increase the customization of my products but will have to keep an inventory as there are Religious products that comes to my mind. The products will remain the same (Warli) but now the buyers will be worshippers of Jesus Christ as compared to ebay.in where there will be a mixed bag of various religion followers. (It is a personal opinion and dear reader, I do not mean any offence when I say Jesus Christ followers. In fact I too love Jesus Christ even though I am a Hindu.) I intend to make the same gift articles but would like to have them with an outline of Jesus Christ’s portrait. I will introduce another exclusive Product which will be a Warli Painting of Jesus Christ’s birthplace.

Please have a look at Warli Art Products on http://www.warliart.com. This Product will be specially worked out for amazon.com and will be well priced as it will require a lot of work on behalf of the artist who will make the painting. I will introduce this Product on direct sale price and no bidding as I intend to sell more of these Paintings. I will have an inventory here for the Paintings as well as the Gift articles as they will have Jesus Christ Portrait on them.

    Inventory / Expenses:- Paintings – US$ 50 x 5 Paintings = US$ 250 & Articles US$ 3 x 40 = US$ 120
Regular Warli Paintings are available for US$ 25 but we will need serious customization in our Product such that it will not offend our buyers and will be at least double of that.

    Previous Expenses:- US$ 127 + US$ 2 = Total US$ 129

    Total Expenses:- US$ 499

    Listing Prices:- Articles US$ 10 + Paintings US$ 149

    Sales on Amazon.com – 35 Articles x US$ 10 = US$ 350 + 5 Paintings x US$ 149 = US$ 750

    Revenue on amazon.com – US$ 1,100

    Amount Credited to my account – Gift Articles US$ 210 + 5 Paintings US$ 400

Returns of goods from ebay and amazon are a part of the selling game, and hence I will allot US$ 100 as rejection.

As I conclude my plan, it just struck me that I must use an affiliate link to sell my Products on amazon.com as there is another commission that they charge (referral fee and it is 15% which is high!) I will use an affiliate ID of my wife or relative and will use SEO Pressor and Article Marketing Robot for the affiliate link and hoping to sell at least 15% of my products through my referral wife’s ID.
If I use the above methods effectively, I stand a very good chance to generate revenue to the tune of US$ 3,000 and yet not spend much on advertising. Rather only US30 in my examples above.

I hope I am able to execute the above to perfection when I start this month end or early next month. I will do this irrespective of whether I win this contest or not because getting paid for doing good is no harm as long as you are not cheating anyone. Guys / girls, please wish me the best as I am about to embark on my Online Success journey very soon.

Dan, I will be purchasing DBAS very soon and will promote my products itself in the beginning and the others later once I taste success in my products. Please give me your review if you can spare some time.

I am a lover of Jesus Christ and if I have hurt any reader then please forgive me as it is a very personal thought of Products that I have shared in the above plan…

Dear All, Please share your thoughts with me at your convenience.

    Regards,

    Mukund Kolhatkar

  96. Jean says:

I am a newbie. I mainly use article marketing method to promote products online. I just want to thank you everyone for sharing the great infomation. I learned a lot from this post. I know it is quite difficult to make $2000 a month especially for a beginner, and every business takes time to grow.

  97. Brad says:

    @Danny Gardner:

That is an excellent plan. With a payout of $40 per lead combined with the searches for this market… as long as a person can get ranked in Google on the first page fast enough they should be able to pull in a lot of buyer-traffic and see money build up fairly quickly.

One thing that is weird though, and I have noticed this before on several occasions in keyword research.

You show 30,900 results for “get rid of toenail fungus” yet when I do that exact same search on Google… and I just did right now… I see About 385,000 results (0.14 seconds).

Any idea why there is such a discrepancy in these numbers?

Not saying this would be a show-stopper just saying normally when we see 385,000 competing results for the search in quotes I think most of us would just skip that keyword. Yet, somehow you are seeing only 30,900 results for the keyword. I just find this quite odd. Why Google shows one person one number and another person a different number.

    Anyway, great stuff!

    Thanks

  98. @Brad:

Thanks so much. People get on the first page in as little as 18 hours with that method.

That is really, really weird about the number of searches. A couple of thoughts:

You may or may not have noticed, but I got my post in at 11:59pm, so I didn’t double check things before posting (maybe there was a HUGE spike from the time I took the screenshot?). Which, to the best of my understanding, was exactly 1 minutes before the official deadline. Maybe the cut off point is tomorrow (Wednesday), but I played it safe. That being said, I rushed a few parts, unfortunately. Probably at least two or three strategies that would improve the overall plan were omitted because of time.

Using the same site, markethealth.com, under Sports Nutrition, the one on the bottom there, XtremeNO, yeah that’s a good one instead. Makemuscles.org is available. It has 3,600 phrase match global monthly searches and about 24,000 competing pages.

Oh and another note about the competing pages, I actually took that screenshot last week…so I suppose Oprah or somebody like that mentioned toenail fungus? Who knows, man. Who knows.

  99. Brad says:

    @Danny Gardner:

    Confirmed.

“make muscles” is also showing me 23,800 searches in quotes. =)

Also, I actually feel like I should contribute something to this thread besides playing the Devil’s Advocate. ha ha

So, to that end… an excellent high-quality and free WP theme I’d recommend anyone here checks out is “Flexibility 3” and you can get it at http://www.flexibilitytheme.com

I have tested many different WP themes and this is the one I currently use. It just keeps getting better and better.

You can get instant affiliate skins for it (for a price) but I just use the free version. It has so many things you can easily tweak I see no need to spend money on the skins. But it’s cool they are available and someone might like the jumpstart. =)

Okay, I feel like I actually gave back something now. ha ha

  100. brandon hunter says:

    I second that Brad.

I also use that on one of my sites I am launching and it is truly incredible.

Even the free version of Flexibility was packed with so many features, and if you knew a bit of html you could easily figure it out to customize it perfectly.

I learned how to do html free here: http://corz.org/serv/tricks/htaccess.php

Its plenty to learn there to tweak everything you need.

Wow I See a lot of comments after my method, I wonder if it isn’t too late to post another method? 😀

  101. Nancy M says:

a follow up – i have sold 11 domains this month – and 3 pending – for a total profit of $2650. i spend about an hour each morning actively marketing names, another hour or so during the day monitoring the forums and tweeting. random marketing thru the day.
    perserverence!

  102. brandon hunter says:

I can make double that amount actually, and without the cost of $500. In fact, you could do it for not even half of that.

All you do is find a CPA program that pays At least $1 per lead, which is pretty easy to find thru sites like a comission junction or other affiliate programs offering CPA programs that pay you for free signup referrals.

This can be even easier to promote with a free site like blogger or a wordpress.org

For best results however, you may want to spend at least $10 for a domain name and you want to get hosting, which can be really cheap like around a $1 for the first month by looking up the coupon codes. I prefer hostgator because it is really easy setting up wordpress on your site.

For the domain name make sure u use a keyword finder like using google adword’s free one or niche finder like market samurai which costs around $97 and is almost the best investment you can make for yourself with keyword research. but if you learn how to use the adwords tool correctly, you don’t need to spend any money for this either.

but market samurai is again is much easier and simpler and a great all around tool.

Make a site and promote it by adding some content and getting it indexed in as many search engines as possible(auto sucks, manual gives the best results, then making a twitter account and just work on getting followers.

If u want use some money to outsource building as many twitter accounts as possible.

First send a few tweets with useful content for your site for each twitter account you have, then offer your CPA for something free to do…

    Easy leads.
    Easy lists.
    Easy Cash/

    Any Questions?

This is pretty easy to get 2000 sign ups this way for your $2,000 goal.

  103. Off the top of my head and apologies in advance for the sporadic/scatter gun approach, but this should help some people…

    Pre requisites:
    a) Have mid level experience + (i.e. experience to turn around website builds quickly, be able to put together a marketing strategy on the fly, create some compelling ad copy, understand various paid traffic sources such as PPV, CPC, PPC, MEDIA BUYS, SOCIAL DISPLAY etc and free stuff on social, youtube, twitter, backlinks etc)
    b) Use something like OFFERVAULT to find some good offers that match your traffic type, generally go for easy converting offers i.e. a single optin submit that pays out $1 per lead or try any free trials, such as as dating offers that pay around $3.50-$6 per lead.
    c) Really understand where your traffic is going to come from so you can maximise your efforts.
    d) Find as many FREE analytics software as you can, prosper, t202 and google analytics are good options here

    1) Sign up for a domain where they offer out $50 or so AdWords Vouchers…
COST = $8 for .com (varying rates obviously) and $6.50 hosting (varying) if you register for one-three months.
-1.1) Build a quick and dirty website, use a CSS template and download a free trial of Photoshop, Dreamweaver for (30 days) or use a wordpress theme – what ever works better for you… Make the website for your users and optimise for position of banners to get higher % of clicks. DON’T WORRY ABOUT WHAT YOU’VE HEARD ABOUT SEO AND BUILDING FOR ON PAGE OPTIMISATION, we aren’t focussing on this for now – but this is something you will naturally start to rank for anyway).
-1.2) Create GREAT content, this is going to take you a solid 24 hour session to get content built, website up, everything ready to monetise. MAKE SURE YOU CAN CAPTURE EMAILS and have the ability to send auto responders – either with a PHP script or use something like icontact or aweber.

    2) Sign up for a CPA network such as Epic, neverblue, etc (write a strong application – it’s pretty easy) and get approved quickly (call them to get through quickly)
-2.1) Ask your affiliate manager to send you vouchers for $50-$100 to use with Facebook and any other vouchers they can offer you.
-2.2) DO NOT ask your affiliate manager the annoying question “what’s working well on the network” or “what’s the best performing offer” – a) you probably don’t have the skill to run it as succesfully as the top performing publisher/marketer b) by them sending you the *avg eCPC this is usually not really applicable to you, it all depends on YOUR traffic and how well YOU can run the offer… a better question is “Which offers convert well for social media display” but to be honest, if you have some experience, you should know what works for YOU so ask if they can give you that.
-2.3) Once you find an offer you like to run, PUSH THE MARGINS more in your favour, sure an extra 5% on a $1 lead might not seem much, but thats an extra 5% to your total profit and in this case it’s an extra $100. For leverage you just tell them that you are working with a competitor on the same offer at a higher payout..

    3) Traffic – pretty much all of the reamining $ should be spent on ad spend to go alongside any free methods.
YOU SHOULD HAVE $485 LEFT, and also:
$50 adwords (you will need to deposit like $5 fee to get it going)
$50-$100 facebook (i think they also require some initial deposit)
    – Approach websites within your niche to buy ad space, either at a CPM or CPC rate.
    – with the $485 choose where you want to run it
3.1) Choose how you are going to target traffic to the offers:
THROUGH DIRECT LINKING or TO YOUR HOMEPAGE/LANDING PAGE
3.1.1) CAPTURE EMAILS, get a list building, content lock etc.

    4) OPTIMISE

    5) OPTIMISE

    GOOD LUCK…

I can’t go into every single sub section there are HUNDREDS of things i haven’t mentioned, which if I don’t have time to go into every single detail, but that’s the general gist of it…

good luck making $2100 with that extra 5%.

  104. Olivier says:

I would ask Dan for an interview that I would conduct myself for cost efficiency.

I would use some free software to record it.

I would buy domain name and hosting. ($20)

Then I would go to Fiverr to get a nice Header + a nice product cover (total $10)

Then I would set up a killer video sales page($127)

I would set up a simple web page with wordpress or kompozer

I would start an affiliate program (free)

    Get an autoresponder($19/month – optional)

I would sign up as an affiliate to a related product that I’d use as a OTO on the thank you page.

I would ask Dan to send the product to his list and give him 50% comission.

at $47, 100 sales and we are over profit.

We can also put a WSO to increase sales and keep 100% profit.

Dan, if you are ok to do it, let me know!

    Olivier

  105. Nancy M says:

Thank you !! going to use some of these ideas here – and keep doing my own as well – sold 12 domains so far this month! 😀

  106. Mike Griffin says:

    Dan,

What a great idea for a post. Thanks to you and the participants for some great marketing ideas.

    Mike

  107. Al. says:

Dannys post was awsome IMO he should have gotten first place.

Thanks Danny you have given me some brilliant ideas.

    Al.

  108. Well done everyone. 3 great ideas. I agree with Dan’s choice of first place getter but I think the third idea was just as good and would have picked it for at least second place.

  109. Chris Reid says:

Just wanted to let you all know that I found this thread through http://www.alexa.com/whatshot as it is 4th on the ‘Whats Hot’ list under Internet Marketing.

    Way to go.

    Chris

  110. Andy says:

Dan: this was a really good idea for a blog post and makes your blog one that stands out from the noise.

Sorry I didn’t have any good idea to make 2K from scratch in a month. But the ideas shared here have been very interesting, thanks to all the contributors.

  111. @Al:

Thanks so much. Best of luck to you, sir.

Thanks, Mr. Brock. It was fun contributing.

If I had more experience and didn’t feel like this was stealing the idea from a report I read, I would have said something like this (but in more detail, obviously):

Costs: $50 for a small handful of good domain names. We’ll say $10 for hosting. $90 for Prismotube. $5 for a graphic or two.

Step 1. Create a niche specific (note I said niche, not micro niche. Something like dog training videos, not teaching dogs to do backflips videos) video site based on a well searched keyword using Prismotube.

Step 2. Ping it, social bookmark it, etc.

Step 3. Once you’re indexed in Google, feel free to throw some ads on there for extra revenue. You’ll start getting a good bit of traffic now.

Step 4. Once you hit the 100 vistors/day mark, sell it on Flippa. These sites go for anywhere from $200 to $700. Their perceived value is so dang high, you don’t even need traffic sometimes to sell it. If let traffic and revenue build up until the end of the thirty days, well, let’s just say you’re likely to make a lot more.

I don’t know about you guys, but I could probably build five of those every week no problem (I personally haven’t, but it’s on my schedule for March) if I really wanted to. Sell them for about $500 a piece, and you’re good to go. Scalability? Outsource outsource outsource. The profit potential is huge.

Step 5: Spend the rest of your start up money on both outsourcing and domain names.

Step 6: Next month, email Dan and celebrate how much money you’ve made even though you’re new to internet marketing.

Disclaimer: I haven’t used this method personally, but I have seen people do very, very well with it. Just look on flippa now and then and you’ll probably see what I mean.

  112. Kaete Mariaca says:

Well, thanks for the shout-out, Dan. I had a lot of fun putting that together.

BTW, I loved your idea of freelancing. I’m freelancing a couple of books for an IMer, and it really does pay well.

Hope everyone jumps on some of these ideas and rocks 2011

  113. Brian says:

Well done Dan for starting this off and being so generous. Some really terrific, practical responses came in. Congratulations to the winners.
As a newbie I feel very encouraged.
I think you have the right idea to make this site a valuable learning resource Dan, lifting you above the many ‘names’ who merely want to flog their stuff and run.
    Good on you.
    Cheers
    Brian

  114. What a great way to start the day.

Even though I won, I think everyone that participated and read this post is a winner as well.

There are tons of great ideas above for making money online that SHOULD NOT BE IGNORED.

Dan, a big thanks for doing this thing. You are the Man!

Im sure it has opened some big doors for many.

    Andrew Douglas

PS – I have no idea what email I used when I made my post. In all honesty, I may have used a fake one. So, if you dont get a response you know why.

If that is the case, I ask that you donate the $100 Gift Certificate to a Childrens Charity so they can get some toys or books etc.

  115. Sean says:

    Andrew Douglas.

You deserve congratulations on your win but my my absolute heartiest congratulations on your generosity in asking Dan to donate the money to the needy children.

Well done mate and I sincerely hope you prosper.

    Sean

  116. SPope says:

The winner, Andrew, where is it you go to outsource this work? Great plan by the way.

  117. I started the old fashioned way. By using the Craigslist Philipines Jobs section.

I found 1 person and got lucky cause they didn’t need much training and I was getting sales within the first few days through clickbank products.

I asked that person if they knew anyone else who could do the job like them and it grew from there. The more sales and $$ I made the more I hired one of their friends.

    Hope that answers your question.
