Making Money Online is DEAD :(

Posted in Internet Marketing on December 28th, 2010 by admin – 44 Comments

I know you’ve heard (and maybe even thought this once or twice) that making money online is “dead”, “over saturated”, “too hard now”, etc…

I want to clear the air right now:

Making money online is NOT dead… in fact there is more opportunity now than ever before.

The “sky is falling” mindset I explained above is toxic. I will even admit, I gave into this mindset when I first started making money online.

Let me tell you a story…

Back in 2004, I had a thriving internet business which sold web hosting. In fact, at the time, my business was actually ahead of HostGator because I had about 100 more customers than they did.

However, I belonged to this web hosting forum, and at the time everyone was freaking out because Youtube and Myspace were becoming really popular. Everyone was saying things like “web hosting is going to be dead because who will pay for it when you can get it all done for free by Youtube and MySpace??”

Coupled with the fact that the customer service for a web hosting business is a nightmare, I gave in to the toxic mindset. I lost interest in my business, I stopped working on pushing it forward, and basically left it to run on its’ own (I had people in place to handle tech support and server issues of course).

Fast forward 6 years, I’m reading HostGator’s blog and how Brent was talking about HostGator being on track to be a billion dollar corporation

Boy do I feel like an idiot…

I’m hear to warn you about how dangerous this mindset can be (look how badly it messed with my future), and that as soon as you identify it, you should immediately correct the mindset (you correct it by pushing forward with your business).>

I’m also here to give you a bit of encouragement…

Let me explain to you why making money online will always be viable, and while it might become slightly harder as time goes on, it will always be possible to break into any market you want to.

Here is why.

Let’s say 100 people decide they want to enter into the “Build a Shed” niche.

Of those 100 people, at the most, 10 might actually go through with building a website.

Great! 10 people put up their websites…but that’s the easy part

The hard part is following through with the website over an extend period of time.

So of those 10, maybe 2 will continue to work on it past the 6 month mark.

(by work on it, I mean continuing to build links, create content, build their lists, etc.)

Those 2 people who made it to that 6 month mark will be making good money at this point.

Out of those 2 people, most likely 1 will lose interest after 6 months.

So you’ve got 1 guy/gal pushing their build a shed site for more than a year…

And it’s only a matter of time before that last person loses interest in the shed site.

So what does that mean for you/how does that help you?

Easy.

As people lose interest in their websites, their rankings drop, their traffic starts to die out, and their lists become cold.

This is when YOU steal the throne. You also have to keep in mind that this is a continuous process that happens across all niches online. People try to get their piece of the pie, they obtain it, but lose interest over time and end up dropping out.

Very few people are able to keep their online businesses going for more than a year…it’s natural. There’s a martial arts saying that goes something like “he who trains the hardest wins the fight”.

This applies here perfectly.

And do you know the easiest way to train the hardest (in website terms)?

Either build a website around a topic you are passionate about so that declining interest isn’t a problem, find someone who cares about the topic to do it for you (AKA outsourcing), and have systems in place to handle the boring grunt work for you.

Are you ready to take on the challenge?

Tomorrow I’m going to send you to a video to introduce you to a guy who has been making millions online for years building up REAL online businesses from scratch - and he builds these businesses up really quickly in niches he doesn’t even care about. How does he do it? Well besides for knowing how to outsource properly, he also builds up what he calls ‘machines’ to do most of the residual work for him. He’ll show you the ingrediants you need to put together to build these machines right from the get go so that you can have a near perpetual online business that builds on top of itself every month.

A lot of what he is going to teach you is very much in line with the Deadbeat Super Affiliate training, however he is going to show you how to take it to the next level, and to modify a few things to make it so much easier!

Most likely this is stuff you’ve never seen before, so keep an eye out for my email tomorrow so that you don’t miss this video.

I’m also adding a little something special to the whole thing to make it 10x as awesome!

A Simple Trick To Boost Your Productivity

Posted in Uncategorized on December 11th, 2010 by admin – 70 Comments

I know I’m not the guy to be preaching about productivity, laugh out loud, but I have been working online from home for awhile now so I know a few tricks that have helped me improve my productivity significantly.

One of the best tricks (and the most simple) to improving how much I produce in a day is this:

When you wake up in the morning (or afternoon if you’re like me), immediately sign on your computer and start working on one profitable activity for 30 minutes.

Don’t take a shower, eat breakfast, watch tv, or anything else until you get that 30 minutes of solid work done.

I know this sounds elementary, but it really does work. It gets your brain thinking about that activity throughout the day which helps keep you focused instead of jumping around.

Now… when I say profitable, I mean something other than reading emails, posting on forums, checking affiliate stats, etc. Instead, build a website, do some niche research, continue working on a product, add something to your auto-responder sequence, etc.

All I know is this:

When I start the day off with video games, my day is spent playing video games.

When I start the day checking emails, my day is spent checking emails.

When I start off working on a product, my day is spent working on my product.

It’s a simple tweak, but it really works. And it takes a lot of practice getting used to.

I’m not perfect at it either… still to this day I screw up and accidentally spend a few days here and there playing video games, but at least I’m making progress!

Try it for yourself for a couple days, take notice of what happens, and I can guarantee you that you will like the results!

7 Crucial Traits of Successful Internet Marketers

Posted in Uncategorized on December 6th, 2010 by admin – 16 Comments

Hi guys! The ol’ Deadbeat Super Affiliate here!

So I’ve been studying a lot of successful internet marketers, and I noticed that there are some crucial traits that many of them have. These are what I believe to be the most important qualities to having success online

1) No fear of failure - The difference between a successful marketer and a unsuccessful marketer is not letting fear get in your way. I know this sounds hooky, so let me explain.

From all of the emails I have received from my students, I have noticed that fear stops a lot of people from progressing and putting in full conviction into what they are doing. For example, one email the other day said: ‘I got to the niche selection part of your course, but I was afraid that I would pick the wrong niche so I am stuck now…’

You cannot have this mindset. Who cares if your first site, your first product, or your first promotion doesnt work. Everything you do is a learning experience. If it doesn’t work out the first time, just keep working on it until you do. My first 3 affiliate sites failed miserably… but had I have given up after the first, second, or even third failure, I would not be where I am today.

2) Spending time analyzing the competition

A lot of successful players in IM spend a lot of effort into breaking down why a certain site or product is successful. This information is pure gold. Take a look at successful sites and try and figure out why they are successful. Dig around, figure out where they get their traffic from, what their ads and banners say, how they handle their sales funnels, their mailing list follow up sequences. Everything.

3) Offloading work load

This is crucial. You need to figure out the least profitable aspects of your business and hire someone else to do them for you. If you spend all your time working on the small fish, you never have the opportunity to go after the big ones. An example of this is article writing. A lot of folks get trapped up into writing articles are day. Unless you are getting paid hundreds of dollars per article you write, you will never make a lot of money if you spend all your time on a low profit activity like article writing. Sure, you may eventually be able to reach the $10,000/m mark with it, but that’s it.

4) Speed of implementation

If you have a good idea, get it rolled out immediately. This is another very important trait that successful IMers share. I see a lot of guys spending 6 months, a year, or even 2 years working on a product to perfection. This is a major mistake. Get a light version out there first so you can test whatever you are doing actually works. How bad would it suck if you spent 2 years working on a software only to find out no one even wanted it…

5) Willingness to go out of your comfort zone

This is another important trait. There’s going to be times when you won’t be comfortable doing certain things in your business. One thing that I remember that around this time last year I was petrified to make a screen capture video. I bit the bullet and did it anyway, and had I not, I can guarantee you I wouldn’t be anywhere near as successful. Another example was doing a webinar. Earlier last month, I did a webinar and made over $60,000 in profit. Even though I was nervous, scared, and anxious, I went through with the webinar! It actually turned out to be a lot of fun too!

Anyway, lesson learned is that every time you go out of your comfort zone, you ‘level up’ your skills. Eventually I hope to do some stage speaking, which will of course take my business to the next level.

6) Investing in your business, not your life style.

I see a lot of internet people get trapped into their lifestyles. They make a lot of money, and start spending it on expensive cars, excursions, houses, etc. They become trapped into their things, and end up having to slave at their business. Instead of wasting your money on these meaningless things, it’s best to invest in your business instead. I know this is common sense, but it’s a lot harder to do when you are in that situation. This even happened to me. When I was younger, I had a really sweet web hosting business that made me somewhere around $25,000/m. I bought stupid stuff like a Porsche that only sucked money out of my bank account. Had I invested that into my business instead, I could have easily taken it to the $100,000/m level! Lesson learned.

7) Building relationships

This kind of goes along with the investing into your business. What I’ve discovered so far is that the relationships you build are what makes you money. That goes with customers, partners, providers, everything. The right relationship can change your life. Work on this whenever possible.

So there you have it!
